  • Hindsight, yes. Bidding on stuff like normal, No. That doesnt make up for the fact that he sent me burnt games.
  • HIlarious you have no right to complain because he didn't write (original) next to the discs assuming you were either psychic or that he has a rep as a pirate that everyone should know as he has a puffed up self image of his personal greatness.

Throw him under the bus, twice.

One for lying on the listing, and two for selling stolen merchandise so they seize his account and lock it.
  • Wow bus, I must have missed the part about the burnt games. Yeah that's illegal on his part. Since you got some money back at least it isnt a total loss.
  • I bought a sony handycam 2 weeks ago $100 and paid right away today I get a message saying that the camera was listed in error and my money was refunded however, this was a 9 day auction plus 2 weeks went by I feel a lot of my time has been wasted and time is money. So I noticed this seller has a lot of high end items ($5000) for sale I'm thinking about bidding on all of them and then waiting 29 days to inform them that I made an error.
  • I'm so fucking sick of assholes who hit BIN before reading the description and then ask if the item comes with stuff that it is clearly listed as not coming with and ask that I cancel the transaction. Fuck these timewasting sons of bitches.
  • I hate myself for it but yesterday I went to Game Stop. I wanted to buy a certain launch title for the PS3 and I knew they would probably have it and it was a good way to pick it up quickly on my lunch break. Turns out that yesterday was GTA V release day, so it was packed and I had to wait in line for about 25 minutes. This is when I witnessed Game Stop's latest ploy to take people's money:

They were offering a warranty with the purchase of GTA V. A F****** WARRANTY!

The guy said the same sales pitch repeatedly; something like "In high-production run games like this, there have been known cases of game discs going bad. It doesn't happen often but if you purchase this warranty you will be protected and we will switch out the faulty game for free."

I am not lying. And they were asking $3.00 for this warranty. The worst part was that people were buying it left and right. I'm not even kidding. The employee at Game Stop was seriously convincing people that their game disc may just "go bad." And they believed him. Many warranties were sold while I was standing there. Curse their black hearts for taking advantage of stupid people like that.
  • They've been offering warranties for awhile. Recently I had to fight tooth and nail with an employee about not wanting to guarantee my $2 purchase for the low cost of $3.

  • Yeah they've had it for awhile, but I've never heard them lie to a persons face saying that games produced in large quantities fail and if you don't buy a warranty we won't help you. That's a bullshit scare tactic.

    don't do that.

  • Person might read. I am deleting.
  • Bought a CIB game on eBay. Item says free shipping, well and dandy. Guy ships six days later, first off that's not making me feel all that pleased, if you can't make it sooner then obviously you have a problem. Already planned on low-starring him on shipping time for that. So today I receive this nice letter from the post office saying I owe then $5.85 for postage due. Who the hell does this stuff? Already opened the case on eBay, but I have to wait six days for seller to respond, then wait another 4-6 days to get back a measly 6 bucks? WHO DOES THIS!!! I've never had this happen in 7 years on eBay.

Not that the game was worth a lot, less than $25 bucks, but damnit it's the priciple of the thing. Guy has 23000 feedback with 99%, a relatively safe deal all things considered. Just irritated
  • I was at a farmer's market today and there was a guy with a video game booth. I saw donkey kong country for $39.99 and almost fell over.

So if anyone is interested in paying $74.99 for a nintendo toaster, here you go. Holy shit.
  • Grabbed some BINs two days ago on ebay. The seller had it listed in his (her?) auctions that payment was expected within five days. No problem, I thought. I was just waiting to receive some payments myself and I knew they would be in my account way before the five day timeline was up. Today (day three) I logged in and saw that the seller had opened three unpaid item cases against me. Sheesh, two days after the auction ended! I'm sorry, but I have a life outside of the computer, and if the seller said that I had up to five days to pay for an item, don't open an unpaid claim against me to "pressure" me into paying before the five day timeframe is up. Sellers that act like that are douchebags, and are probably some instant gratification kiddies.
  • So. Many. Fake. Pokemon. Games...!

Seriously. I try to get around the by buying a. we copy but no, it's a (re?)sealed knock off! I know I'll easily get my money back but it's such a pain in the arse and a time waste. Think I'll stick to buying Pokemon games from forums and pre-owned shops.

Buy then on Amazon. They have a seller registration thing w ppl who try to list Pokemon where they have to prove they're real before being allowed to sell the games. No shmuch from anywhere can list em its only credible sellers. And the sellers have to pay a higher selling fee in order to be considered.
  • Wow go amazon on that. It's nice they try and police that a bit but I do wonder how effective it is. Some people are too stupid to realize (hell probably a lot) a fake is a fake if it looks reasonable, the name and the ROM match and original, and the save works.
  • I probably will in future if I ever buy from those places again. It's just I thought a 10k feedback seller selling for a similar price to those on Amazon would have real copies.

Yeah, most people who buy them will probably never know. The seller I bought off had sold over 100 copies of that game and I doubt many, if any, noticed it was counterfeit even though it was a pretty terrible job (EU case, US artwork etc). It's just annoying that you can't even trust the sellers that have theirs priced around what you'd expect to pay for a real copy.

DAFUQ you talking about. That's nonsense.

It seems to me the more images of Mario plastered on a seller's websites/eBay pages, the worse their prices are.

A lot of the stuff he had in his store was poor condition anyway.  It looked like he bought out an old video rental place and decided to open a business.  The $39.99 donkey kong country had a discolored cartridge.  I would commonly pay maybe $5 for DKC, and that's if I were actively looking (Which I'm not because I already have like 7 copies of it).

  • More of an annoyance but when people use stock photos of NTSC DS games and actually send PAL DS games annoys the anal part of me .
  • ughhh. a simple return of an honest mistake. had two people buy an item. I send the wrong ones to each other. Both the same just one was in worse condition. I tell them i will pay their return shipping of 2-3 bucks since its a small first class item. No big deal. Apologize. Well they ship it back fed ex are mad at me because it costs them 12 bucks. At what point did it costing you 12 dollars did that not raise a red flag that you were doing something wrong after I told you how much it should cost you. ughh. have to guide everyone by the hand these days. People cant think for themselves.

What is going on in this auction? Could it be shill bids because the seller didnt like what the auction was ending for?
  • I'm guessing its two bored kids that have 0 intention of paying.
  • FYI: Careful to anyone listing multiple copies of one game on ebay.

When selling in bulk, it's easy to forget exactly what you have listed. I did not realize how close these were despite them having different pics.

Unfortunately, their similarities netted me a 7 day suspension of listing over a $7 item. I guess a day for every dollar, ha. I was able to get the restriction lifted after 4 hours on the phone over the course of 2 days, but still.. It's an easy thing to overlook but is definitely in their policy. Just a word of warning to anyone else out there to try and really differentiate copies of the same game if you can (different titles, different description, different price..). I figured they were so similar that I would just list multiple quantity on one listing which I HATE doing for games. Effin' ebay.
  • ^^ All you have to do is remove one letter from the title. I've done it before.

I got hit with an MC999 for listing a 17 rd magazine. Limit is 10 rd , now I know.
  • Can't list switchblades either... I'd sell it on gunbroker.com or gunauction.com
  • My gamestop burned down 2 days ago. Bye bye video games.
  • I'm surprised that post has been up this long and no one questions why you think it burning down is a bad thing.
