Is this Exertainment MBR/SR Cart Legit?

I've never really worried about fakes before, but for a game this rare, especially in my area, I really want to make absolutely sure.  It looks legit to me, but I'm not an expert, and given the rarity of this game, I haven't found any pictures of anyone else's copy to check against.

Board says Copyright 1993 Nintendo

SHVC-1A3M-30

Anyone out there with one of these want to confirm?

  • How much did you snag it for?

  • that's rare everywhere, buddy. fantastic pickup. lots of good stuff popping up this week.
  • I got it for $500 cash, no tax. Not a steal, but given the only cart on all of ebay right now is 2500, I'm okay with it.

I'd still say that qualifies as a steal. Pretty much a $1400 cart now. Nice score!

  • Damn, should have put it in Finders Keepers then. Oh well.

I'll move it for you and you can edit your thread and bask in the glory of a sweet deal!

  • Looks legitimate to me! Even for $500, you scored really nice on that cart!
  • Nice job getting this!
  • im jealous
  • Nice! Welcome to the Club!

It was almost as good a deal as the one I bought a few weeks ago.

    Yes

I think some of the copies we are seeing now are collectors that bought cheap a long time ago and they are just recirculating because of the high price.

I remember not buying at least one copy for $250 a few years ago because I thought the price was too high and no one would ever spend that much on a video game!

  • Great job getting this. One of those carts I may never own but you never know. Congrats.
  • From what I hear of Canadian game stores, they must have just thought it was a regular exertainment cartridge and $500 is where that one automatically gets priced, haha.
  • Nah, these guys know what they have. They just have good prices. I picked up both Konami Justifiers there recently (blue & pink) for $60.
  • Nice score man! I wish I only paid $500 for mine...

Those Justifiers are about ebay price and not really a steal though.

Maybe you got really lucky and they saw the copy I bought for $350 still in the completed listings and used that to come up with the $500 price?

I know they weren't looking at the $4K and $20K copies up for sale right now

  • I can't find a pink justifier anywhere less than $100. Where are you finding $40 ones?
  • so upset, this cart was supposed to be mine, it was on hold but someone put it back out

glad it went to an NA'er at least
  • Damn man. I didn't know that. They didn't mention it.

don't worry about it, it happens sometimes
  • I picked up their Metal Warriors at the same time, but it was so badly corroded no amount of cleaning will make it work. I have to get my money back for that one.
  • How much did you pay for the metal warriors?
  • $80. It's in really rough shape, but I was hoping it at least worked. Label is only half there, and several pins are corroded beyond repair. It looks like it was left in an open box in a barn for a few winters.
