The Flintstones: Surprise at Dinosaur Peak

My friend was cleaning out his closet and brought all his games over to me to look at. Most of the games were the common stuff that most of us had as kids. I think the most expensive game I seen in there was probably Majora's mask or Mega Man X. At the very bottom, I seen the flintstones game. I thought, naw this has to be the common one. Knowing it wasn't, I still double checked. Yep, it was surprise at dino peak. I was shocked to see my friend have a cart that is so saught after, just sitting in his closet for years lol. I told him it was worth $500-$1000 depending on condition. I also let him know he could make pretty good online too. Well he kinda needed the money for the car and offered it to me for a price I couldn't say no too. I don't have much money but I figured I would help him out and still get a good deal. I got it for $200 and a pool that was given to me for free. I never put the pool up because liners are expensive for the big ones.

So the cart looks really nice, except the very top of the label has a little wear. I wanted to get pictures of the inside but I can;t find my security bit anywhere. It has a slight rattle inside, but I tested it and it plays great. It also has what I think to be it's blockbuster numbers on the front. I will be keeping the numbers on the front, but will eventually clean it up really nice and take the rattle out.

Edit: Just added text to picture to cover it up.

One of my friends told me their neighbor was selling their pool. He talked the lady into letting him have it for free if he dug it out himself. Then my friend asked me if I wanted it since he got it for free and figured I could use it in my yard. I took him up on it and we went and dug it out. The lady said the pool was between a $4000 and $5000 pool. It was about 5 feet deep and 25 feet diameter. The liner would of cost me a lot and the bottom brackets to mount it in the ground had rusted a bit. The project was something I was putting off and had no plans in the future. Was probably gonna sell the pump on craigslist and scrap the pool.
  • $200 for Surprise At Dinosaur Peak? Sounds like a steal to me. Congrats!
  • Make sure not to throw that "rattle" out. Try to figure out what broke and super glue it back on. If it is one of the tabs holding your board it place, the board may slip at an angle when pushed into a pin connector on your console making a crappy connection.
  • Wow, you paid less than I did for mine 2 years ago, lol. Congrats!
  • All I have to say is "I wish for that price also congrats!"
  • Congrats! So this wasn't a blockbuster exclusive after all, eh?
  • Good karma. You even told him the value of it.
  • Nice find. At least you were honest about how much it was worth.

I couldn't lie to a friend. I believe in karma and most of the time I get good karma back. Sometimes it bites you in the Ass though. I tried to figure out the story behind it though. I asked him if he knows how he got his hands on it. He said he can't remember. He is pretty sure the numbers means his parents probably bought him it from a blockbuster or something. He just remembers playing it as a little kid and thats all. It would of been amazing if he could of told me where exctly he got it and the full story behind it.

That good to hear and that truly sucks that he doesn't remember. That one hell of a find. I actually pay way more for mind. I pay way above the going rate. Which I knew at the time it just that I wanted that game.
