FOUND A GREAT GAME FINALLY!!!!

I can't believe I'm about to write this right now but I decided to go out today on a spur of the moment game chase day. I had no luck at the first couple places but I decided to go to a local place that usually gives pretty good deals but they hardly ever have anything "uncommon" or "rare". So I go in an jus take my time walking around looking at everything. I look in the retro game section and it's slim pickings as usual. So I go up to the front to look at the video game related energy drinks that they usually have in stock. As I'm walking up I see 2 stacks of Nintendo games sitting on a shelf behind the counter. I thought this was weird so I asked the worker if I could see them. He said " sure but I haven't inventoried them yet" He hands them to me, and I start saying in my head got it, got it, got it, etc etc. Then suddenly my jaw drops!

I quickly say I would like to know how much he wants for this game. He grabs it and after getting on his computer he tells me the price. I almost pass out. Then in my head I start thinking how can I fix this cart.
It has marker all over it. So it makes me debate on if I should pick it up or not. The price is good but idk if I can fix it. I have fixed many games but none of this caliber! So my question is, how should I go about fixing this?
I did purchase it but now I'm starting to think it was a mistake. HELP ME!

you too?? I just picked that up as well today at a flea market for two bucks yo

  • If you did indeed score a LS and you plan on keeping it, leave it alone. Clean the pins and enjoy a great game. "Its what's on the inside that counts" lol, so thrashed or not be happy you scored a really good game.
  • In all fairness the site does occasionally show the wrong picture when you upload. To fix it you change the name of the file and try again.

That said, you can't clean marker off without destroying the label.
  • Receipt + Pics or it didn't happen

You're wrong. NES labels have a laminate coating, so you could clean the marker off with alcohol or something, but just be careful not to get any under the label
  • If your story is legit, great find! I hope the cart isn't in too much disrepair.

I will be keeping it, I just want to make it look as good as possible. This kind of game I have never came across before! It's a great game to add to my collection!

i don't think alcohol will touch it. If it's a colorful kids marker maybe but most of the time someone writes in permanent black marker and to get that off you have to disasemble the game and soak it in oxyclean. That will get under the label and ruin it.

Until we see pics we won't know how bad it is. Without pics this is just a wild goose chase.

    Hey thanks a lot man!!!!!
  • from the pics it doesnt look like theres any writing or damage to the label you should be alright just using a magic eraser on the cart itself to clean it up (just be really careful with your precious find )
  • Nice score and easy fix on that. Congrats on an awesome find!
  • Thanks so much guys!! It's mostly luck but it is gonna take some work to make it look good.

I'm glad to add it to my collection. I think the price point was very fare considering the condition of it.
  • Don't use a Magic Eraser, it will leave a mark. Rubbing alcohol works fine for sharpie marks.
  • Very nice find. How much did you pay for if you don't mind sharing?
  • For a second I thought the marker was on the label. Looks like an easy fix, take your time. Congrats
  • Yeah that'll be an easy clean up. And for future reference rubbing alcohol will remove permanent black marker no problem, I clean it off things aaaaall the time.
  • Well if you use magic eraser don't over use it because you will make the cartridge smooth by rubbing the texture off.
