OMFG Miracle Piano Find at GoodWill!

Hey everyone, so super excited right now! On my way home from a doctor's appointment I stopped at the brand-new GoodWill that opened a couple miles from my house. Walked in expecting to find nothing but low and behold! It was on the bottom shelf covered by a ton of shit and I had to do a triple take to verify what I was seeing. I've always wanted a Miracle Piano because I play keyboard myself but was really just holding out for the right listing. It cost me $20 and comes pretty much with just what you see. And it works but has some minor issues. How much do these generally go for? Thanks

  • Great find. Goodwill is where I found mine too.
  • Awesome find! I think a CIB NES Miracle Piano goes for $70-80, so you got a good deal there.
  • Very nice find!! And its the Nintendo version of the box. I think I have some spare cables if you are needing some [looks like there is just an ac adapter there]. Wish I could find the box, styro, and foot pedal to have a complete one..
  • I've passed on a few of these at various thrifts b/c they're almost always just the keyboard. Hard to find one with the rest of the stuff, LOL.
  • ^ Yeah unfortunately it's missing quite a bit but for $20 it's far cheaper than you could get off eBay. Plus it's the first one I've ever seen.
  • Nice find. I'm on the search for a displayable CIB NES copy.
  • If anyone has the cart, instruction manual(s), Styrofoam, foot pedal, etc for sale, please PM me! Anything that goes with it.

Great find! Do you know what its missing?

  • Seems like a lot of people on NA found a Miracle Piano at a GoodWill. I defiantly need to keep my eyes open for one haha

Thanks! Yeah it's missing the pedal, cartridge, cables to connect it to the system, upper Styrofoam half and all manuals/paperwork. So probably a pretty daunting task to try to put it all together but I like challenges. As long as said challenges don't cost me twice what it would if I just bought everything outright.

  • Made a troubleshooting thread instead of discussing it here...

Waaaay more than that unless it's dropped really majorly since I found mine last year. I think this is like the third or fourth one found at a Goodwill on this site in the past year, haha.
  • Kiss my ass!!!! Dammit! hahahaha. Great find. I've been searching for one for a few years now.
  • Awesome find! We just got one in at our store recently. It is only missing the cable to plug it into the system but other then that it is nice. They are very hard to find in the wild like you did.
  • I've actually found 2 miracle pianos at Goodwill, one with a box. None of the other parts were there though.
  • Thanks guys. Yeah now I just need to find the other pieces and put this CIB back together the way nature intended. I really want to find the upper half of that Styrofoam, it's driving me crazy the way it fits all loose inside the box.
  • LOL what are the odds but I found ANOTHER Miracle Piano yesterday for $20! Since I wasn't too happy about the state of the first ones box (and the lack of the upper Styrofoam) I decided to mosey on over to Craigslist and see if I could find another one. Well turns out a guy had just posted an ad for one in the box for $20 when I checked. So I picked it up and everything about it is better than the first one. Too bad both are still missing the pedal, game, connection cables and manuals

  • LOL! That's pretty cool how you found 2 so quickly in your area. Good luck finding the other pieces.
  • Shit, is everyone in MA shedding Miracle pianos all of a sudden? Nice pickup man!
  • if its only worth $70-100 then its not all that great since the thing was originally worth $500 at release, it is still a good price that your buying it at though
  • Seriously, dude. Don't go out in a lightning storm, you'll be the one just lucky enough to prove it can hit the same spot twice. I've wished to find one of these for a few years now and no such luck, and not even as a collector but to use it as intended.
  • ^ Yeah bro, I'm really looking forward to playing it. Once I find the cart and cable I'll be all set. I kinda want to play it on my SNES but I know the cart is quite a bit pricier and I'm not sure what the deal is with the cable, like if it's more difficult to find or what.
  • Someone on the site here has a miracle cable, saw it in the sellers thread earlier for I think $25. Good luck getting at least enough to get started. My parents hired two fakes when I was a kid who never taught me over a couple years how to read sheet music, barely showed me much other than to follow stickers on the keys which got me nowhere so I quit on it. It always has bugged me, and miracle keyboard did back in the day because it was disgustingly expensive but supposedly effective. I'll find one eventually I'm sure, just not my style and not urgent either to eat it on ebay. If you can find two boxed units that fast, maybe the parts will fall out of the sky too soon.

I remember seeing a how-to guide over on the Racketboy forums for making your own cable if you're so inclined.

Seeing how I'm about as good with my hands as a T-Rex, I don't think I possess the technical prowess to accomplish such a feat. Last time I tried to solder something it was a dead model 1 Sega CD and I just broke it more.
