Funny, I found the Warlords port to be the best Xmas game ever.
I like the 4 player games for the XMas carts. NOthing says it's Christmas time, like having 3 friends over and playing some NES games complete with blinky lights.
As for not having a 2013 16 bit xmas, the man can only do what he can do.
No, because that would make collectors butthurt. Plus it was already a reissue. Nevermind the bad audio problems. Mine is Armageddon edition, wua-ha-ha...
Brian, We need a Powerpak with BLINKY lights! Just sayin
Hell yeah! Christmas edition!!
Where would you put the blinky lights? The current PowerPak is filled in solid. Maybe it has room for a single red blinking LED but not much more than that.
Yeah, I played the download demo briefly in PC emulator and I'm like this game is awesome!!! The first stage looks like a boring Space Invaders clone but from there it just gets awesomer with every level. Instabuy! I'm currently waiting until the cart arrives to try and see how good i am at it when using it on real hardware. I mean sure I could have used a PowerPak, but the blinky lights are too awesome! This one's not going in my toaster: I'll be playing it on my AV Famicom for maximum blinky lights awesomeness! I have a front-facing cartrige adapter that actually puts the NES label forward instead of backward so I can play it as intended.

8 bit Xmas 2013 is a great galaga clone and very addictive.
Made a fast gameplay video . (i think a lot of people want to see this game in action so enjoy.)
Quick question: What does the "christmas present" powerup do and how do I collect it? Am i supposed to "shoot" it or "touch" it with my sleigh?
Anybody have a Game Genie code for infinite lives? I'd like to see how many levels this thing has before it repeats or ends. Galaga is a vanilla NROM game and only has a few levels but this baby is 128k so I assume it's literally stuffed with tons of stages!
After playing this game for a few weeks now, I can only get to level 12, but I have confirmed that level 22 does exist. Maybe you should ask MOG and see how far he has gotten over time

22+ levels? That's nice. I really shouldn't compare it to Galaga, but I used a "infinite lives" game genie once and beyond a certain point it stopped getting faster and just looped the same 16 stages over and over again. I either rolled over the score counter or made it to level 99 and after a few hours slogging away at it I got bored so I turned it off. That was ten years ago so I forgot exactly what happened but there wasn't any type of kill screen. It would be kind of ironic if there was a game-busting bug that occured at some higher level beyond what any of the beta testers could reach. I am wondering though if there's an actual ending or if the stages begin to loop at some point.
I so need to learn how to debug game ROMs and develop my own Game Genie codes as I wouldn't mind seeing how far the game progresses.
From what I've seen so far, the Xmas 2013 cart is such an excellent playing game that it really needs to be reskinned after the holidays are over and released as a permanent homebrew staple. Aside from the title screen, music, the space ship being shaped like a sleigh, and the powerup looking like a Christmas gift (actually they could keep the gift graphic as an homage to it's roots), it feels and plays like it's the most awesome single screen space shooter I've ever had the privlege of playing. Had this been released on the NES/Famicom back in the day, I could have seen it either becoming a cult hit or a popular Famicom import.
Just sayin' the 2013 edition is such a good game that it's far more than just a novelty to drag out during the holidays. I could plug it in and play it any day of the year.
Nifty game and all, but I too wish that it was multiplayer. My wife and I make a habit of pulling ol' blinkies and the toploader out every year. Ah well.

We all know Brians heart is with the NES not the SNES. I'm not sad at all.
Yes, but he's been known to flirt with SNES every now and then. Bad BunnyBoy; you'll make yer harem of topoaders jealous!

Bad audio in 2012 edition:

Nope, not willing to devalue those who supported it. That is why none of the previous years NES carts have been rereleased either.

8-bit Xmas 2009 got reissued in 16-bit format, albeit with glitched audio. How about a multicart?
Just release a five pack multicart of 8-bit Xmas from 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, sans the blinky lights?
After all, AtariAge is still selling Stella's Stocking, which came out in 2007. I bought mine in May last year:

Stella's Stocking was the 2007 AtariAge Holiday Cart and now it's available again in case you missed it the first time around!

If that didn't happen there wouldn't have been an SNES cart that year either!

Or is it only letters, numbers and punctuations?

If I want to order 2 carts with two different messages, how should I proceed?
Just add them to you shopping cart one at a time.

I tried that, but it would just overwrite the other one I just put in my cart.
No worries, I would just write an email to: Support@retrousb.com
They may take a day or two to get back to you (this is their busy season), just be patient and I'm confident they'll take care of your request.
