Why you gonna be that way Dain? Just tell them how great the buffet is there. And the wonderful atmosphere at the casino. Unfortunately, I will be too busy at CGE to walk across the street.

  • Hm.  I've never heard of this CGE.  It sounds like something I might like, but I don't wanna travel for it.  All kinds of cash to spend for that....  If they held it in Ohio, however...  image

  • I'll be flying to the CGE tomorrow. Thanks to bunnyboi for bringing his own gold cart this year, I can leave it at home for once!
  • I just want to say that I went to CGE and met NGD, Wizard, Dr. M and Jumpman.

Along with tynstar, we had a lot of fun.

Here are some pictures that I posted at RFGeneration.

What? you mean I don't look like Optimus Prime?!?
  • It's amazing to me how you get an idea in your mind of what someone looks like then when you actually see them, it's nothing like what you have envisioned. The only two people in that group photo I recognized were NGD and Wizard (though wizard looked a bit older than the last photo I saw).
  • Lol now I dont feel so old. hope everyone had a good time.

lol too true - I hadn't seen pics of some of these guys before and yet somehow couldn't believe it was them image
  • two words people: convention report! get crackin' image Let's hear the good bad and the ugly!
  • Well Jumpman looks exactly the same as the pic he posted here on NA! Kinda odd but he somehow reminds me of Dr. Zoidberg so it's fitting it's his avatar and he had it pinned to his shirt at CGE. Don't ask me why cause I don't know it always just seemed appropriate... LOL!!

It was really fun. I went into the show as soon as it opened and the first thing I did was go talk to bunnyboy to see if he got the Sudoku carts that I dropped off for him (the grey ones that Al made). When I got there, he told me that they ALREADY sold out. I was pretty shocked when I heard that. I went over to this guy's booth (Atari2600.com), and he had TONS of complete NES games and empty NES boxed. The problem was that his prices were fairly high. As I was telling the guys later, though, we didn't come all this way to find something we needed for a little bit higher of a price than market value, and then not buy it. So anyways, I went to the booth and Dr. Morbis spotted me and we started talking. When we were talking, NGD overheard our conversation and and introduced himself as well. A little later I met the wizard, captain nintendo and tynstar. It was dope. I hung out with these guys a lot during the whole show, as we were part of the "NES crowd." It was funny, because in the auction on Saturday night, there would be these weird NES things up for auction and nobody knew what they were. John Hardie, Joe and Sean (the guys running the show/auction) would say like "I don't know what this is, something to do with the NES," and then NGD would step up and say "oh, that is "this"... it does "this" with "this." Lol, I don't know I found that funny. Anyways, I should have pics up tomorrow.
  • Yeah, I'll post pics when I'm not so damn tired. Oh, and hit GameTrailers.com for a webcast from the swap meet. Me and NGD rambled on about the Hands Free Controller that I "had for sale" (meaning I pretended to be selling it because an upside-down Captain Comic just wasn't that cool).
  • I was the idiot in the Jim Zorn jersey who was first in line. My friend was still up from gambling, so I told him to go wait in line around 6:30. We got stuck talking to Fighter17 from DP (although he wouldn't shut up about being banned). He kept going on about his opinions of gays, vegetarians, and import games. After I couldn't stand the talking anymore, I just turned my slingbox on my phone, and watched TV until the show opened.

My first stop was to Brian's booth, where I was told he sold out of the grey Sudoku before the show even started. My friend couldn't believe he just wasted hours of his life waiting for nothing. I have never seen him so mad in my life. He just kept going on calling it "the biggest douchebag move I've ever seen". It wasn't that big of a deal to me. I ended up with the regular version.

I didn't really expect to find much stuff I needed at the show, and only ended up buying a compete Mega Man 5 for the box and a Drac's Night Out repro.
