  • Glad I finally got to see what it looked like. Read about it in a footnote a couple of years ago, I think.
  • ^^^WOW!!!! Find that in the wild??
  • I have a three screw Canadian Donkey Kong.

I also have a 5 screw, so I know they are not all 3 screw.

Does this qualify for the list?

Thats an awesome find indeed! I gave up looking for those on eBay, way too many Mega Man listings to sift through.

Congrats!  That's an awesome find, and it's been a while since one has surfaced, I think.

I have this guy up for auction, so you can take me off the list shortly. I have also sold my SMB box to RayRay9754.

  • OH WOW!!! First known variant, correct??
  • Well, based solely on release date, a 5-screw SE is possible. I really hope this isn't a fake. With so few SE's that made it through the recall, this 5-screw could be a one-of-a-kind.
  • pretty neat find if real with the price already crazy i'd hate to see where it ends
also how would you go a about verifying it?
  • Is the 5 screw Tyson rare? I have a CIB one, I can upload a pic when I get home from work.

Yeah. Kind of a big deal.
  • What exactly does this one mean?

    "**Other Unusual Variants**

    - No version number Bible Adventures - R9 - 6+ known carts -"

Where would it be on the cartridge?
  • not on the cartridge but on the title screen in the lower corner

It does not.  I got this with some other CIB black box games from my uncle awhile back.  He didn't want them and knew I was getting into the system, that's why I assumed it was a CIB of that version.

  • OK, the thread is updated. Sorry I haven't been on as much lately, but I did catch the fantastic 5-screw Stadium Events thread. Went through some popcorn on that one.
  • Happy Birthday Andy!

I got the non hang tab box and manual for Dk Jr
  • Received this from Jon Solo last week.

Add this one to the list as well.

  • hey now i have 2 of the 3 screw american (non-Canadian) gyromite game carts. can i get added to the list please and here are the pictures to confirm it.

oh, i am willing to sell one of these for a reasonable offer, so shoot me a PM if interested.

  • Add me to the list. Picked this up last year for about 15 bucks on ebay. I was buying it to put into my Challenge set but I wasn't even aware this was a rare variant. NTSC-USA version.
  • A friend of mine told me about a 3 screw soccer in a gamestore pretty far from where I live, but before I go all the way to see if it's actually true (I really doubt it), I'd like to know. Seeing as I live in Europe, the cartridge would be PAL B, is there any difference in rarity between the NTSC and PAL screw variants? Or does the PAL 3 screw soccer happen to be very common?

As far as I can tell all PAL Soccer carts are 3 screw. So, you should actually be looking for a 5 screw if you are in Europe.

    PAL A Italy:

    PAL B Spain:

  • It's up for auction here right now, but I thought I should mention here that I recently got my hands on an RC Pro Am 5 screw:
