I have a picture at home from weeks ago where I scored a million in all 10 spots...but Paul has already given away the secret. I believe Mog has the current high score
On a side note, when I first heard about the flash memory on the cart I realized I am going to have to be careful not to cheat when I get my actaul cart.
Especially down the road a method to clear the high scores may be desirable in case the cart decides to change hands since many new owners may like a fresh start. Many N64 and GBA games come with an internal menu prompt to clear high scores. This is accessed by holding down a certain combination of buttons when the game boots, which prompts a warning dialog. Confirming the dialog will clear the save data; cancelling the dialog will keep it. The details on how to do this are usually presented in the manual.
Would a game genie be able to spoof the highscores?
Sure, if you want to make the high scores even more bogus than is already possible!
Infinite lives won't work though since you have to actually die in order to post your score. It may be possible to use the demo ROM in conjunction with an EMU debugger to locate the values that need to be changed.
From what I understand and have experienced in the multiple versions of the rom, You can NEVER clear the high scores off the physical cart. We are lucky Brian spent the extra time to do a scores system, let alone one thar remembers all scores.
I made a little "Let's Play" video showing off the blinky lights and gameplay. Sorry about the crappy capture. My camera always overexposes the CRT screen.
It may not have the 4-score compatibility (or even a two player) that the old Xmas carts had, but who around here always has three friends hanging around to play with? The game is extremely fun and addictive, and sans the blinky lights and Christmas theme (just change the sleigh into a space ship and redo the music and title screen), this game still kicks ass as a homebrew, and would have made an awesome space shooter had it been released on NES back in the day. I said this once before, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to go back to playing Galaga again...
Quick warning on these, pretty soon I won't be able to guarantee shipping before xmas, so don't wait to get your order in!
LOL, Brian is backlogged with all the orders he's recieving! 8-bit Xmas carts will suddenly not be that rare anymore. Can we confirm that it won't become "discontinued" until January 1st, regardless of how far into 2014 it takes to ship the remaining orders?

It isn't being discontinued early, and there isn't a backlog. Remainder of the boards hasn't left china yet so there is a chance they will not arrive until after I leave for xmas vacation. Any orders will still ship, but not until after new years.
I noticed 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 are all NROM, whereas 2012 2013 are both UNROM so I guess they could share the same boards. My 2013 Xmas cart PCB has a 2012 date stamp on it, but it has high score saves. Did Xmas 2012 support this?

Ok this is really the last bump. Boards just arrived so I will be making carts all nite to ship tomorrow. If you get an order in with no custom text in the next few hours it might ship!

Anybody else scored a million points yet?

Is there a way to reset the high scores?
.

This ain't your ordinary boring Galaga. Take a ride in Santa's Blaster... Shoot EVERYTHING!!!
Download the demo if you're not convinced enough. It's well worth the 43 bucks. You will regret it if you wait until after the 31st of December.
I'll be doing a "Let's Play" Video later...

Maybe I should pick this up this year, since I've always kinda wanted an 8bit Xmas cart for like 5 years.
I've wanted one too but this year the game sold me. Sleigh Invaders or whatever the game is actually called is pretty fun.
It must be fun coming up with ideas for these games. Next year they could modify this years game a bit into a Centipede clone and call it Santapede

Definitely not in the coding!

No 16 Bit X-mas this year?
Frankly, I'd rather have no 16-bit Xmas than a buggy repeat like last years. 2011 was a good year though.
