warning to the the aged members

Well my boy asked me to go to the park and pitch him some baseball. after throwing him several balls and him not hitting many I said give me that bat. I proceded to hit one almost over the fence then proceeded to make sure the next one did. Instead of hitting the next one over the fence I swung so hard I felt a pop in my side. I spent the night having a hard time breathing deeply and couldnt cough or laugh without pain. Im thinking I broke a rib or something. went to the doctors today. no broken ribs but tore quite a few muscles. Guess the moral of the story is playing video games doesnt get you in good shape for actual activity. One bright spot maybe is Im going to be off work a few days playing video games. and its not a good idea to try and keep up with a teenager

  • lol... good one man!!! Im only 21 and I play baseball and I just messed my wrist up swinging a weighted bat.... now I cant beat resident evil 4. I just bought for the wii last week and Im almost to the end image I guess Ill have to wait for the wrist to heal.

By the way, those of you with a wii go pick up Resident evil 4. Its only 29.99 and is so much fun. Even if youve played it on other consoles the point and shoot action makes the game so much better than aiming with the joystick... by far my favorite game that has come out on the wii....

Back on topic, Enjoy gaming for the rest of the week dude.... wish I could do the same image
  • I too hurt my wrist ... doing... other ... uhhh... things...
  • I just turned 27. I have trouble throwing a football hard. When I throw it, I get a huge pain down near my kidney.

    It sucks getting old.

  • Long story short I once had a giant tube TV fall on me, and I ripped some of the muscles in my back. Hasn't healed completely in over 7 months, and I haven't been back to the gym since. Injuries suck image and I'm not even that old...

  • At 33 years old, I keep my self active. I play in 2 different hockey leagues and am pretty flexible for a "big guy". It's all a matter of stretching and staying limber.
  • And yet you were complaining about all the walking the other day image

BTW, all that shit I bought...I actually managed to get it all on the plane image No shipping costs for me! image
  • Did you stretch first?
  • No I didn't. image

Of course being "fat" and tall can take it's toll on a body after a whole day of walking.
  • Walking is about all I do besides the lifting involved at work... It's 1/2 mile from my house to where I work (down one steep hill and up another), so I usually opt to walk instead of drive. Saves gas, yes, but when you have bad knees that like to act up every now and then (hm...kinda like right now image )...it's sometimes a chore at best.

Edit: For what it's worth...I'm 21, and seem to have the knees of a 51-year-old image .
