To me, this is just a seller being an idiot. The same thing could have happened with a loose cart selling for the same price as a CIB. People look up prices for stuff on eBay and sometimes dont know there is a price tier for collectibles based on completeness, condition, and rarity.

I think OP is saying that it inflates the price of games. I'm not a fan of VGA, but I don't quite agree that prices are necessarily inflated by the VGA rated games. This item won't sell because the price is ridiculously higher than the actual value.
Yeah I get what the OP is trying to say but it just seems like a weak dig at VGA.
I'm not a big VGA guy either...but this is just a case of a clueless seller. Not a good example of a game whose price was inflated by VGA.

Soera, I thought of that but I know it would do absolutely no good....
I wasnt rude about it. In his auction, he welcomes people to check out how great his price is. So I start by linking him to the VGPC site with Buster Douglas around $200, then tell him that the other game is VGA certified, sealed, been that price for months and is not selling. His is not brand new or even close.

Soera, may have done the guy a favor. The seller has not sold anything since 2010. They appear to know very little or none regarding video games. They probably found this and thought they struck gold with their quick search and OMG Moment.
They may not want to hear it, but polite advice (Polite, Respectful, etc. being the key) never hurts.
I think VGA Serves its purpose. (Not looking to argue the pros/cons here)
This thread really should be more along the lines of seller silliness.
It could have just as easily been a sealed one listed for $2,000 K and this guy probably would have still listed his/hers for $1,000 K
On a serious note, I have sold off like 3/4 of my video game collection and maybe I'm a ass but it's because the prices people are willing to pay that are getting are ridiculous. I usually list as an auction starting at .99 cents and they get bid up like crazy. I've made a fortune this last year and the best part is I don't really miss anything. Classic gaming has gone insane and I don't want it to take me too, lol.
* Never plan on selling my complete SMS collection or my PC Engine, Dreamcast, Atari 2600, 3DO or PSP collection though...well, maybe...

Well if the game actually sells for $1000 then he may have a point but it didn't sell so the price high or low is meaningless.
