Sega CD: CIB or Disc only?

Torn on this....

WIth the carts the CIB makes sense but with the CD, I like the idea of CIB but I also understand the idea of just putting them in a CD binder. discs only are sometimes WAY cheaper than the CIBs, example is Road Avenger, CIB I'm seeing in the 40-60 range where as disc is 9 dollars...

  • If you're looking for them inexpensively, then yes, CD only is the way to go. That said, you could make your own CD only collection by burning ISOs, so for my money it just doesn't feel right to have anything less than CIB for Sega CD. Getting the cardboard box games in good condition is a huge challenge though, and of course there are a few crazy expensive titles.
  • Im the opposite. I think carts (NES, SNES, and Genesis) make sense to go cart only. SMS carts and N64 need at least a box so you can look and differeniate one game from the other. With CDs however I think a case is pretty important unless you dont plan to display at all.
  • Well screw it... I'm going CIB.

I hate myself. I have decided I want to collect FMV games, how wrong is that.
