Oh hey.

I'm the guy who picked up the Xbox One at midnight, but also made sure I got Super Mario 3D World and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds that night too, since the release date was the same - went home, tossed the Xbox One on the floor, and popped in Mario.  3 days later, still hadn't opened the Xbox.

Now, weeks later, I have finally opened that sucker up, and it's great for watching TV and Twitch, but I still find myself firing up my Wii U and 3DS primarily, while the other glistening console - the PS4 - sits collecting dust since it was unboxed.  I mean, until a Tales game comes out for it or something.

What prompted me to join this community?  Bravely Default.  I have been playing the demo and I need some friends that will play too.  I live in the middle of nowhere, and can't get any Street Pass friends, so I need to get some friends ON THE INTERNETS to get the most out of that game.  And other 3DS/Wii-U games - any Monster Hunter players?  I'm a bit of a collector too, but I have gotten rid of most of my 'retro' stuff, so the regular old Wii is about as retro as I get these days.  Virtual Console ruined the glory of the older systems for me.

Does anyone else think Nintendo should put GCN games on VC?  Let's have Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Super Mario Sunshine at least.

Also, I like Nintendo games, in case that wasn't obvious.  Also anime.  Also guitars.

  • Welcome! I don't agree with GameCube on VC. The real console looks too awesome to not be actively hooked up to everyone's main TV. It's one-of-a-kind, cute little discs need to be spinning oh so quietly in it's proper place. It should never be emulated and will never have to because the system never breaks.

  • Welcome. I doubt you will find too many others who prefer VC to the original here though.
  • I should clarify that I don't necessarily 'prefer' the VC releases to playing on the original console, it just makes it easier to get your hands on things.... like Earthbound =)  As the older systems continue to age, it's a lot harder to find a reasonably priced cart for a lot of the little gems out there.

  • Welcome to Nintendo Age mang!
  • You know, I think you're right about that.  The only consideration really is whether or not there will be inputs for it on TVs in the not-too-distant future =)  I think someone should 'kickstart' a CRT Retro Gaming Television, 4:3 format, RCA/Coax inputs, maybe with a large screen and a nice design... maybe even an input selector built in so we can hook up all the old systems to it at once!  The gears are turning now...

That's true and is a really good idea. I can't stand that S-Video is obsolete because that's what I use to connect my SNES, 64 and GameCube.

  • Welcome, a few people on here play Nintendo also
  • Welcome aboard! Don't trust that guy above me either ^ He is mean to me
  • Welcome! I waited to Link Between Worlds too, and I love anime and playing my guitars too. My favorite anime is Inuyasha, and Rosario+Vampire
