What the heck is this? Saturn people please chime in
So I got this stack of Saturn games and amongst the stack I find a weird looking game.
The words on the front look and feel like the were screen on the disk exactly like the other Saturn games. The game to me also doesn't look burnt. I'm also curious about the code after the name
I know that there was a Keriotosse in Japan but I can't find anything on Keriotosse 2 or Keriotoss 2. Anyone have any insight? My friend is letting me try the game in his US and Japanese saturns tomorrow. Very weird
Any input at all?

There are lots of uncompleted games floating around for the Saturn it seems you have another one.
I haven't had a chance to get to my buddies place yet to pop it in because of my crazy work schedule. Hopefully soon!
Is there value to something like this? I actually am a pretty serious NES collector (currently 644/677 licensed games) and not so much a Saturn collector
Thanks for the responses guys!

Value is weird with these sort of things when it comes to the different systems. I literally gave away a Gold Disc for the Saturn of a released game because I couldn't sell it for $20, $15, then $10 on Ebay. This was before the market boomed, but still. In comparison that same month I sold my US Lab Loaner final version of Solomon's Key 2 (essentially a "gold disc" which was released as Fire 'N' Ice) for the NES for, well lets just say a metric f-ton more, and I saw that very same copy come up for sale a few months ago and it was in the thousand+ of dollars range. I believe it sold too.
But anyway yeah there is probably some value IF it's a game and not a demo. This could just be a bunch of videos and sprite animations. If it is just a demo, it's still probably valuable, but nowhere close to as valuable as a Beta or Gold disc.
As for that value? Really Keritosse wasn't so popular people are dying over not having it. If you had found, lets say Ultimate Journey for the NES, you'd be in the many, many thousands of dollars, $5-8k eas, probably much more than that actually. But for something like this there's just not the demand there. Especially because there aren't as many diehard Sega Fanboys as there are for other systems, and that's taking into account that the Saturn is very strong amongst the Sega Fanboy market (and there are many reasons why).
Having said that let me give you a good way to gauge the value of this disc, it's a long story, so if you want I put a TL;DR at the end, but this should give you an idea of the value.
Sonic Xtreme is/was the most hyped cancelled game for the Sega Saturn of all time. When a disc with some of the build material popped up it was so sought after that a few people literally threatened the lives of the person (people?) who owned it. After a while the person who owned it (I don't remember who) put up this insane holy grail for sale on the Assembler forums in an auction. It got way hyped, and most of the gaming communities knew about it. Now remember Sonic Xtreme was seriously the equivalent of the "Ultimate Journey" of the Sega Saturn Lost Library, there is likely no Saturn prototype or beta worth more than that particular title. Having stated that, it ended up selling for around $3,000... $2,500 if I remember correctly actually. I'll find the links to auction if you'd like, but they're easy to find with google.
Now that was before the market blew up like it has, but that's still not a lot for what is/was hands down the most anticipated game on the Sega Saturn of all time, and The Holy Grail of all lost Sega Saturn titles, and especially not a lot for a game that people were literally threatening to kill over. In comparison Keritosse is pretty much Poy Poy, but harder, and in some people's opinion, not as fun (I think it's a blast though, screw the haters!). Keritosse 2 wasn't really heavily anticipated by anybody, nor was it a major seller. In fact I'd bet most people just forgot it was supposed to come out, even if they knew about the first one in the first place (it's not exactly obscure, but it's not really discusse much either). However, since this is a game that was never released it may hold some value to it. So to get top dollar you'd have to find the right buyer, and the right place to sell, and on top of that it's possible it may not even work in a regular Sega Saturn unit.
Also if it is just a demo there were probably at least a few (maybe a dozen) made so they could be shown off at different events on different rigs, which would reduce the value. If it's a complete game, or beta, there is likely somewhere a disc of it (though at the same time just as likely there isn't). So as to value, it's hard to say, but I'd say a few hundred if it's a complete game, less if it's an incomplete game. If it's a demo I'd buy it off you for a fair value, but it couldn't be too much, as I'm not well off at the moment and I'd just dump it with the help of Assembler anyway.
If you're looking to sell, here or Assembler would be the place to do so in an auction style setting. I'd honestly be interested in giving you a fair value if one can be figured out. I'd have to know what the content is first though, and again I'd only be doing so in order to dump the contents, which would totally devalue it (if it hasn't already been dumped that is).
Anyway, hope that helps, good luck!
TL;DR: It's probably not worth much, unless it's complete game or is at least playable, and even then it's not a holy grail of a title, so don't expect thousands of dollars. Sorry to break that news to you.
Anyway, I hope that helps, but good luck regardless.
I definitely wasn't expecting anything in the thousands at all . I want to try it in a Saturn soon so I can see what's all there and if its even playable! Either way I will definitely post up what I find on it!
Thanks a lot!
