Are you going for a complete set?

  • UK N-Gage and UK Dreamcast. Both sealed sets

I only need four or five more N-Gage titles, but need to replace half a dozen of the common ones with sealed copies for a full sealed set.

I think I only need something like 30 more sealed Dreamcast games for a full set, but will probably skip Shenmue & Shenmue 2 for various reasons. I have almost all of the rare / sought after titles, except for Grandia II and Taxi II. Yes, I own a sealed Samba De Amigo, but not the box set with maracas unfortunately

I chose both of these consoles because I considered them achieveable, with very little filler. Both have sports titles, but a lower percentage than any other consoles. Games are (were) relatively easy to come by, with a handful of hard-to-find ones which would add to the challenge. I opted for sealed in order to increase the challenge and to provide me with an ongoing search, rather than just throwing my money at eBay. Any idiot can do that, but I wanted to experience the thrill of the chase, and I am now hunting down the last few titles in the condition which meets my criteria
  • I guess you could say I'm going for a full set on every system since I keep everything I don't own but there are some systems I heavily focus on:

    N-Gage worldwide set:

Only need damn Sega Rally to finish this off.

    Microvision PAL set:

Only need game 6 and a boxed system for the CIB set.

    Videopac german set:

Too many different ones in different countries that would take forever to find. I'm now down to the board games which are fairly expensive but not uber rare and the games that are very difficult to find. It will be a slow progress.

    N64 european set:

Won't bother trying to find the australians. I'm about halfway through now and still missing quite a few of the rares.

    PS3 non-asian set:

Basically trying to get every game released outside of Japan, Hong Kong, China etc.

Needless to say I'm still pretty far off.
  • My goal is a complete U.S. PSP set. I'm only sitting around 20% right now, but a majority of them are RPGs, collector's editions and harder to find games. I limit myself to a tight budget for gaming, so I've passed up a lot of common titles because of price. Slowly but surely I'll get there.
  • I've been going for full sets for NES, SNES, and Dreamcast. I have 535 for NES, 217 for SNES, and 60 for Dreamcast. I collect for PS1, PS2, Genesis, N64, XBox, etc. as well, with the total collection approaching 2000 games. I might go for other full sets, but the library sizes for PS1 and PS2 are intimidating.
  • I'm currently working on the PS1 Longbox games. Only need 26 more.
  • I really like Ps1 and ps2, debating on getting full for both
  • I would love to get all of the ps1 ps2 ps3 psp games but atm I consider getting as many as i can for each until its hard to find some
  • I'm going for a complete PS1 set I'm currently at 360 so I'm about 1/4 there. I'm going for black label only, no variants, no lightspan, no assassins case, no demos (unless I find a very good deal) BUT I'll be keeping the demos and major variants I stumble upon on my journey for exemple NHL Faceoff Longbox/Jewel case. Dangerboy helped me a lot at the start of my journey answering a lot of questions via digital press.

I intend to play all the games but not finish em' all. My cousin (almost my brother) and I we're trying each game I receive and then we decide wich one we want to complete... It's really a lot of fun playing those bad games and sometime we discover real gems. That alone makes the crappy games worth it
  • My current collection project is: Lightguns. I'm gunning (pun intended ) to have all Lightgun Games for PS1 and PS2. I completed the PS2 collection just today (16/16). Maybe there are some obscure games left that rarely anybody knows about? I mean, I discovered Cocoto Funfair just the other day...

I also already have 11 LG games for PS1 (out of 31). After that I may go for a complete "playable with PS1 mouse" games. Yes, I really like those alternative controllers.
  • @Waka: If you like alternative controllers, check out the GameTrak for the PS2. I think there are three games for it. Real World Golf, Real World Golf 2007, and Dark Wind.

I have Real World Golf with the club that comes with it but still looking out for the actuall GameTrak, are they good fun?

I actually have two of them, but I've yet to try it myself. (The one I got the other day is an upgrade, since my old one had a bit of wear on the box.)

Apparently they've sold over 60k copies of the actual GameTrak controller, though.

I'll probably try it out once I've got the other two games. (Only have Real World Golf as of right now.)
  • Oh yeah, I saw the GameTrak in action once but couldn't try it out, unfortunatly. Too bad there are only so few games that use it.

But still better than the Steel Battalion controller, which can only be used for Steel Battalion + it's sequel.
  • And then you've got the Realplay games, which all come bundled with their own motion controllers.
  • Do you already have the BigBen Shootpad? It's basically a mat with a football (soccer ball ) on it that you can use for football games like FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer. I have no idea how good it works though
  • Oh my god, that Shootpad looks awful.

Is that another way of saying, "GOTTA HAVE IT!" xD
  • "It looks like a useless piece of crap. The controls sure suck as hell and there's absolutely NOONE who would ever want to use this.... IT MUST BE MINE!"

I'm actually into accessories as well but I really only buy PS3 ones every once in a while. Already have all the RB3 Pro Instruments which I'm happy about cause they're getting more and more expensive. The Pro Guitar is probably the most complex controller ever produced that was available for retail purchase. Over 100 buttons

I'm not that much into that Guitar Hero/Rockband-stuff. I use my own Guitar as a controller!

Yes, of course I'm talking about Rocksmith here.

  • I aim for a full PAL Playstation set, allong with official Sony accessories that came out in europe at the time and Official Playstation Magazine demos. I still have a long way games wise though.
  • Slowly but surely going for a playstation 1 set, it's tough to complete because every single item of playstation 1 stuff is for sale as I would rather buy things cheap and flip them and keep repeating to fund a complete collection and of others.

I've had 2 Suiokden 2's and both sold for
  • LOL at above comment ^^^^^^^^

    hahahahahahhh
