Back In The Scene
Hi everyone,
Name: Jason
Location: Pittsburgh
I started collected NES games back in 2000 with three friends, in the end I was the only to go through with the whole thing and obtained a complete NTSC licensed/unlicensed set of games released to the public. I say it this way because I never did get either of the NWC carts, but I do have every other game. I finished my collection in 2003 or so, I can't quite remember. Anyway, while I did post back in the day, I was never a heavy contributor so it's likely I'm not remembered. Lately I've been getting back into the scene and this seems like a great place to hang around. Hopefully I'll get to know some of you guys and we can tell stories.
My favorite find story was in a funcoland (back when it was still called that and they sold NES games). As usual I went straight to the NES section and there was this couple browsing games to relive their childhood. I hear the girl say to her boyfriend, "look it's a flintstones game". Of course I expect it to be The Rescue of Dino and Hoppy, but I look in her hand and it's Surprise at Dinosaur Peak. At this point I'm shocked, and excited, they start arguing because it's $7.99 and there are many other cheaper games. He says put it back, it's too much for an old game, but she still wants it. After a minute or two she relents and puts the game back down, before she even had her hand back I swooped in and snagged it up. She gives me a look that is a combination of surprise and anger, but I don't care it's mine now. I hurry up, pay, and get out of there. If they only knew what they just passed on..... Just a favorite short story in my collected days to get the ball rolling here. Hope to see you around.
I'd also like to thank all who helped me out in my other thread I posted here a few days ago.

I wonder how many times I've said that!
