NES music on your guitar

Anybody play any NES riffs on your guitar? There are tabs out there if you

look hard enough. I just learned the over-world theme for Dragon Warrior.

Sounds sweet. I know there are some NES bands out there too.

Also, has anyone heard the techno remix for Castlevania and Contra?

If not, I highly recomend them. Found mine on Bearshare.

  • A while ago I learned the music for Super Mario Bros., which is a lot of notes to remember. I also learned the underworld and underwater songs for SMB, as well as the cave theme for SMB2.
  • I did the SMB underground theme on my bass. Here's a link if you'd like to see it:

I'm planning on doing more. Double Dragon II for example. That has some sweet bass in it. Pretty awesome stuff : )
  • I haven't learned any, but the band "The Advantage" is really, really good.
  • There is a band that is devoted to old video game themes, they are called The Mini Bosses, they kick ass, and do an amazing version of Castlevania.
  • This is a GREAT Zelda song. Some controversy over who actually made it, but great none the less.

That's the Zelda Rabbit Joint Cover from OCRemix.org.
  • ya I guess this song was mislabeled back in the day on napster, and since it sounded like them, everyone belived it was SOAD. Five years later people still arguing about it lol

I have to second this. I saw them in Iowa City last September and they were phenomenal. So much cleaner than any of the other NES bands I've heard, and with the best drumming.

Their drummer Spencer Seim is also the guitarist in Hella (toured with System of a Down and The Mars Volta a couple years ago) which is also fantastic stuff if you're into really complicated math rock.

Makes me wish I could make the time to learn how to play guitar. Maybe some day.
