Hey guys, collector from NY here.

What's going on everyone?

My name is Aaron, i'm 30 years old and live in Long Island NY. I have been playing video games my whole life and like to collect anything video game related from the 80's to late 90's. Around 5 years ago i had a psychotic episode and i sold off most of my collection on Ebay, i was never happy about it and the more time that went by the more terrible i felt about selling all my games. I never had a huge collection but all the stuff i had meant a lot to me, some if it was stuff i had gotten for christmas's as a kid or for birthdays so the sentimental value was high. So just last year i started collecting again and i couldn't be happier.

For work i do painting and construction. I barely make enough money to get by so collecting is tough for me but i have already gotten a decent collection going so far. Recently i have been into collecting NES games but i get into phases where i will get into one console for a while then i'll get interested in another system and start buying stuff for that. It's definitely a addicting hobby. When i can i also like to build and repair PC's for side work, i actually would love to do that for a living but for some reason i was never able to get a permanent job doing any tech work.

I look forward to meeting everyone here. I actually am a long time reader of Nintendo Age and just recently decided to sign up. I really like the ability to keep track of your collections and plan on using that as much as possible so once i get a significant amount of games i can know what i have, need or want to trade. Besides collecting i'm also into collecting guns, tattoo's and watching basketball.

Hope all of you have a great day and good luck with your collections!

  • Hello and welcome to the forum. Good luck with your collection.

I also started collecting last year, in the start of 2013.

  • Hey Aaron, welcome to NA I am also from the Island!
  • Did you mean to use your email address as your user name?

    Welcome to NA!
  • welcome aboard ...
  • Actually no i didn't mean to use my email address as my user name, i just changed thanks for pointing that out. And Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
  • Welcome to NA, another long islander !! Just no more of those psychotic episodes. I never sold or traded in any of my child-hood games. I too would only get the NES games for x-mas and birthdays. I had about 30-40 as a child, now as an adult i have around 500+ just for the NES...None of the boxes or manuals survived my childhood so now in my efforts of collecting i have managed to complete the loose games from my childhood.
