Is this a fake Rockman Mega World?

Hey guys. I bought a Rockman Mega World cart from a seller in the UK. It came today, broken.

Upon closer inspection, the chip looks like a fake. Can you guys confirm this?

  • looks like a pirate cart
  • Yeah, exactly what I thought, because I own a repro hack game and the chips are the same. This guy better not ask me to return a broken reproduction to England.
  • Yeh definitely a fake/repro the game is on a chip under the black blob commonly referred to as a "glob top"!!!! Plastic looks extra brittle to!!!!!!
  • Oh trust me, it is. Broke into many little pieces. Doesn't even have the save battery!!!
  • So what site was the purchase done through? I am sure you would have paid with paypal so just open a dispute, what a joke that cart is.
  • It was Ebay, I opened a case already. I'm actually glad it broke, or I may not have checked the chip until I realized my saves weren't working.

It was $65 from England, not 20 dollars from China, so it didn't seem sketchy. I don't think the seller knew.
  • Just for reference this is what a real one looks like on the inside.

  • Thanks Spaceflea, why didn't you answer my question I PMed you?!
  • The dickhead is fighting it. I can't believe he calls him self a collector and passes this off as a fake. He says shit like "Oh I never had a problem with it" bullshit. He obviously never tried to save his game!!!
  • Won the case!
  • Good to hear, the right result. Now to look out for an original at a decent price!
  • The message I got from Ebay was very nice and professional.
  • Makes a change, if only there fees were as "nice".
