I have a special thing for rental games. So i want to see pictures of your rental games or systems!

    Why do you have a special thing for rentals? Is it because you have find memories and nostalgic ties of renting them as a wee lad?

    Yes the megadrive is the only gamesystem i rented games for. Me and my sister would go to a shoppingmall near home and would pick a game by the cover. Sometimes we found real gems like hyperstone heist and boogerman and sometimes we would get shit like home alone.



    The games in that rental store was stored in VHS clamshells and they were usally filled with foam rubber so the cart would lay still.



    We got to rent games or videos if either we were good in school or if we were sick. And i hated school because of my stern ass teacher. So during 1-5grade in school i would on purpose get sick. I would put snow in my clothes or shower cold. It would not go a full week without i was sick from school playing a rented megadrive game.



    The store owner even let us buy hyperstone heist because we had rented that game ten times or so and i still have that copy to this day.



    I belive that because i was sick so often as a wee lad my immune defense has become stronger as i rarly get sick. Even if i feel sick i never has fever.



    It´s because of this i always try to buy rentals if i see them up on auction. Nostalgia <3

    Here is 3 rental variants i have. hyperstone is the copy i rented as a child and alex kid is also from sweden universal soldier is from england i like the box it came in very sturdy.

    I like stories of nostalgia like that, fond memories. When I collected I actually acquired quite a few of those big box Swedish rental games. It was near impossible to find them in good condition being ex-rentals of course but they were different and as a result I wanted some.

    The nes rentals are more sought after because the originals didn´t come in nice hard clamshells. But i like the big megadrive rentals because Bigger is always Better.

    I enjoyed hearing how you put snow in your clothes to purposely get sick to stay home from school and get to play Megadrive. I never use to make myself sick but I did use to get sick quite a bit growing up as a kid and when I stayed home I watched TV and played Megadrive. I remember one time I was sick and in bed a whole week of school, I played Australian Rugby League and chose 80 minute games. I beat the whole game playing each match for 80 minutes, it took the entire week. Great times despite being sick and lot's of find memories. For some reason my mum always gave me lemonade when I was and coupled with playing the MD lemonade often takes me back to then when I have it.
