  • Holy damn. Has this ever happened before?
  • I had Pokémon Distributions flagged in the past so I stopped selling them on Ebay. This is the first time having NFR carts flagged though. Have a good feeling a bitter competitor has had a hand in doing so. If NOA was flagging them down just by putting Nintendo not for resale in the search engine it pulls up 258 listings.
  • I've long feared this day. Sorry it happened to you, man.
  • Wow, that sucks.

But technically they "aren't for resale", so Ebay themselves might have decided to be assholey about it. You can't sell empty boxes on there anymore either.

Silver lining- if you're looking to pick up NFRs, if peeps can't say NFR then they'll just get buried with the normal ones and you'll potentially pay less? And at least there's still somewhat of a market on here?
  • It's amazing the timing of this happening. Ebay works like magic when they want to pull your sellers discount. I work to hard to appease Ebay and the buyers for this crap to happen.
  • That's pretty ridiculous. I thought it was pretty clear that the NFR warming was meant for retailers because the games labeled like that are generally in some sort of bundle so they would have different code/SKU and wouldn't match up with the individual copies being sold. It doesn't seem like selling NFR's goes against any current ebay policies that I've seen.

There is such a fine line with nfrs and the ability to "resell" them. The nfr is for direct distribution and given out for free. So the nfr represents NOA or asocates not offering it for direct resale. Does this mean every Nintendo bundled game marked nfr is going to be in risk of violation? 12 million DS fake carts from China on Ebay and they pull nfrs....lol

Don't think that is going to happen. Every time Pokemon Distributions take a hit on Ebay I have new members contact me on here as just to buy them.

  • I think it's 1 individual that had their hand to this. The email from Ebay stated it was NOA but i doubt it was.

If the ban is persistent in keeping them off, gurantee they take a hit.

Sure people will come here to buy but when they realize they basically have you sellers cornered, they will dictate more or less a % of the price.

    Wishful thinking I guess.

Yeah, all signs seem to point to this. If NOA really was upset about NFRs appearing on eBay, they would have taken them down long ago, and they would have taken all of them down, as opposed to just yours. Are you going to try to take some action to get your games back up, or are you just going to stick to selling them on here?

    Sure

  • I contacted Ebay and also NOA about the issue. If NOA wanted them off Ebay like you said it would have been a mass take down. Being it's limited to just me it reeks of a playa hatea...lol
  • I can 99% guarantee you it was an individual/few individuals. I had a Gamecube Gameshark get kicked off eBay before and I contacted everyone I could until I got a straight answer. The eBay rep told me basically someone (read: ONE person) complained about my auction and eBay doesn't have the resources to verify if their claim was correct, so they took it down. I questioned the other 20 Gamecube Gamesharks that were on eBay and their response was: "If you want you can submit those auctions to us and we'll take them down." ... ugh... that wasn't my point.
  • Keep us updated on those responses. I'm particularly interested in what NOA has to say about the issue.
  • The Pokémon distributions I can understand in part why NOA wants them off Ebay. The NFRs for the most part don't offer a distribution it's only the physical cart that holds info.
  • ^Hey man, why don't you sell something like a dust cover for the price of the NFR and include the NFR for free?

Ebay will sniff that out pretty quick.

The bigger issue is that ebay has pulled these once now, so if he tries to relist them he could get his ebay account into some hot water.

I ran into a suspension back in the day for doing that with McDonalds Monopoly pieces.

  • True, I guess I wouldn't want to push my luck. They probably have a close eye on his account now.
  • I don't have any particularly strong feelings about this since I don't dabble in the NFR market any longer, though my sympathies are with you, OP. If NoA is truly being vigilant about the NFR cartridges, what's to say they won't try to branch out into flagging prototype listings where the cartridge reads "Property of Nintendo of America"?
  • Man eBay is just getting ridiculous.

I would say protos would be the step before nfrs. My gut feeling is playa hatea....lol I'm starting to like that word and how it rolls off the tongue..."Ooo....say it again....Mufasa" lol

  • I just won 2 auctions last night & paid last night. Then I wake up this morning with messages saying the NFR's were removed!!
  • 27 is a lot to have up for sale all at once. Start another account, don't tell anyone it is you and take it much slower. You will be fine.

Wait, so is this happening to other sellers too?
