NES Paperboy problem.

I got this question from and Ebay user today:

Hey, I am having trouble using paperboy. It loads up but then I can't play it. The remotes do not respond to the game. I tried using a different game, and they worked. Any ideas? Thanks

I've never heard of anything like this happening before... what could be wrong?

Clone systems have issues with Paperboy. Are they using an official NES?

Yeah, I know that paperboy uses a different controller reading method than most games, so I'd bet it's a clone system he's having trouble with.

Yup, he was using a Retro Duo system. Does anyone have a full incompatibility list for clone systems?
