  • Im so sick of these EFFING INTERNATIONAL BUYERS. Buying shit then asking after they pay for lower customs value. If you cant afford the fees. THEN QUIT BUYING THINGS!! I know some of it is stupid for countries to do, BUT US SELLERS, cant control your country. Asking me to send a priority package for lower value means I am no longer insured for the full amount since I declared it less value. Its just an asshole thing to do AFTER you purchase an item. puts sellers in a horrible position. It pisses me the hell off. Buy from your own fucking country if you dont like the fees and dont buy US goods if its a problem.

end rant. Been getting way too much of this lately. Cancelling and refunding is a huge pain in the ass, and now risking negative feedback if I send it on. Ebay says buyers cant ask for customs fees reduction, but if they dont leave anythign related to it in the feedback I doubt ebay will change any feedback. Ive never had any luck whatsoever with ebay and feedback.
  • Have you tried writing in your listing: "PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME TO UNDER-DECLARE CUSTOMS VALUE ON INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING." Maybe in big bold red letters. That may help.

Have taken that into consideration. Doing a massive re edit will be time consuming. May just start putting it on everything new I post.

If they ask me this beforehand its whatever, I can say no, and theyll move on but when I charge more for shipping an expensive item for tracking, then they agree, pay, and THEN ask for it, is when it gets under my skin.
  • Got an unauthorized chargeback for 466 dollars international. My blood is boiling. This person is a freaking thief. Nomrally no big deal signature confirmation and proof of delivery and im done, but this was an international to Canada purchase. I sent it express mail which requires a signature. Now online it says records are gone and not retrievable. So now its been in their hand for over 30 days. So I now have to talk to paypal to get somehow this information to them to show proof by their guidelines even though the ebay account they admitted they got it via messages because they were upset about customs fees being 81 dollars. And I remember seeing Delivered Abroad on the tracking after failed delivery notice was left for them to pick it up.

You see Canada members??? you see??? this is why people wont send you expensive shit. Not saying members here are bad. But this is the reality of the world. Im never selling anything over 250 anywhere international again.
  • I don't know why ebay needs to change shit every few months. I think they hire people just to come up with new shit every 3 months. Amazon has hardly changed anything in years and they are still kicking ebay's ass.

Quest,You should use a separate account for international.

I didn't sell much international , but that was one of the main reasons I stopped, It was just about every order they asked. What I sold was halo prop that was more than $200.

    ??

  • A bit of positive news to update on the paypal unauthorized payment chargeback. I shipped it express mail international since it was over 250. So the post office told me they would be signing for it but id have to go through the red tape to get the signature if I needed it. I also read about this on usps.com and saw signature was required for express mail international. Today when I logged on, their website is changed and cant find it anywhere.

Well today I talked to paypal 4 times

    1) Lady was nice told me what I needed to upload for proof since tracking number just showed Canada delivered and no actual address. Since it was over 250 I was concerned, and I think she forgot about that stipulation.

2.) Called back with the receipt I still had when I printed the label that showed proof of address it was sent to. I actually kept this which was awesome. The guy tells me where to upload it just to make sure I do this correctly. After uploading the image of the label receipt he then states. Did you get signature confirmation? I explained to him what I did, then said what does that really have to do with anything with proof of delivery and its unauthorized payment. This isnt a case of item not received. That isnt the disputed part. He then becomes an asshole and tells me if I lose they will have to take back the funds he released blah blah.

3.At this point Im feeling down about the whole thing and starting to have to accept a 486 dollar loss which right now would not be ideal since I just had my paypal balance wiped with ebay fees due and needed the money to transfer. Well I call this third time to maybe speak to someone who is more understanding and can help me. This guy then after I explain everything says well you may lose the credit card dispute but if you appeal with this information signature confirmation shouldnt be an issue in this type of case since its unauthorized payment and there is no dispute of whether they received it or not. I then get his name and id number for reference.

    4. I then after that call think, wait a minute, let me check canada post and see what their tracking shows. USPS already archived my tracking and it shows delivered but the details even after requesting are vague and not helpful. Went to Canada Post website.

HOLY SHIT Canada Post, your tracking is awesome. It shows delivered and step by step of this express mail shipment. It then states Item Notes: Requires signature. IT then states Signatory NAme and then name of the buyer. It then is clickable so you can view the signature online and this says delivered. It was awesome. With this new info I call again so they can add it to the notes. He then does and says without a doubt I shouldnt have a problem now even if I lose to get my money back. He had no idea you could check this way and actually shouted out, "wow cooool!!" on the phone when I told him to try it out and get this added to the case. HE then readded the tracing number, website and brief explanation to the case and confirmed it showed the signature. Got his name and ID number as well for future reference.

Now I feel better. My only doubt is Paypal maybe not honoring Canada Post legitimacy in some kind of loophole. I really hope this turns out ok. I now have to wait.

If this turns out ok I am now in debt to you Canada. For years I have poked jokes, Barney Stinson esq, at Canada, but I must say Canada Post kicks ass and Canada is ok now in my book. Now what board game money would you like in repayment

p.s. your bacon is awesome as well
  • Hah wow I wish the US Mail sucked a bit less now since Canada Post puts all that overkill lock solid type of information online including a copy of the signature. That thief won't be winning that case to the point you lose nearly $500. Hopefully when they have to pay you back if the chargeback isn't resolved they send him the bill for defrauding you and them.

To your older post on it, yours may not be a NA member, but mine was over a paltry $25 in goods that supposedly got lost in the mail which is why I don't ship out anymore except to certain people.
  • Just wanted to stop in and say fuck Gamestop. That's all.
  • Block this non-paying bidder! cranberry300m

He also doesn't respond to messages.

Jeff - I sent $675 worth of stuff to Canada last week. It shows delivered today and it says "signature required" as well, but can't see it! You make me nervous
  • Why do people message me asking for a lower price. When I politely decline, they then try to tell me how there are lower priced ones on ebay. Ummmm??? then buy those??? I dont get it. People are idiots. Lonely idiots who try to pick fights.
  • Just got a message from an eBay buyer who bought a WiiU game from me Jan 15th stating the game is defective and either wants to return it or exchange it for a new/different game. How about no. How about fuck no.

Gonna see what eBay has to say about the situation when I get home tonight since I believe this is outside of the buyer protection window but inside of the feedback window. I have a feeling I'm about to get fucked since I am not inclined to believe that the disc suddenly became defective so long after purchase, and that it is somehow my fault. Hell with that.

  • Not feeling much more confident after getting off the phone with "customer support," though I did politely and professionally decline to issue an exchange or refund. We shall see what comes of this.
  • Any Disc Replay customers here? Some locations, Merrillville and Scherville, have been increasing their prices from being dirt cheap to moderate. It not outrageous but after getting game for low prices for years, it is a extreme disappointment.
  • The one in Skokie is retardedly high on some stuff & awesome on others.

I bought 3 of the .hack games there for $9.99 each & other really good deals (as far as being able to flip them for a profit goes)... but they want $49.99 for Windwaker on GC or anything on GC that says "Mario" or "Zelda".

That is another thing that irks me, overprice first party Nintendo games. I am now starting to see the SMB/Duck Hunt NES carts for $5 at some stores. Sure its supply and demands but look at some prices for an overproduced game, holy crap!
  • Dont lowball offers. This applies to Nintendoage and craigslist. If I ask for offers but dont have a listed price, offer anything. But if I have a game listed for $7 and you want to offer me $3.50, just eff off. I will ignore your message.

I have recently ignored some emails from craigslist and a couple PMs here because of that.

Something I've learned over the years is if I'm serious about buying, I'll pitch an offer so that it's at least worth it for the other party to sell. I don't think too many people are keen on shipping out single cartridges for $4 shipped

On the other hand you many want to think about whether your item is actually worth $7, it's okay to price high but don't be afraid to drop some on a combo deal. I can definitely see a couple items on your list that are priced higher than what I would sell at (Dream Master and Blaster Master would be more like $4 - $5 titles, IMO)
  • Pfft... half. That's not even insulting compared to some of the offers I was getting on my Conker's box before it sold. Had a guy offer me something like $10 for it when it was listed at $65.99
  • A couple of years ago I had some kid(assuming he was a kid, but he had quite a bit of feedback) offer me $18 shipped to Israel for a $250 halo prop. A couple of days ago I had a $30 offer for a pair of shoes I have listed for $100.

I haven't looked at auctions in a while. I have some money in PP so I'd thought I would check some out. I see ebay's doing away with auctions is working because there are hardly any going on. Sucks because that's what made ebay.

  • You got that right, the last I looked a couple months ago in the video gaming area under the NES (set to US only) 15% of the auctions were actual auctions with a set time frame and an end (with and without a BIN option) and the other 85% were straight up set prices or set prices with some shady oddball percentage off for X hours/days. It was quite sad to me seeing so many good games not even popping up outside of that now.

I make people great deals all the time. But I also HOPE to get my higher asking price if possible, and I expect to if the person is spending only a little bit of money. Like most sellers, I lower prices when people buy more items.

  • Since that Seriously Craiglist thread got locked...here's my two cents. Seattle's CL is the same...filled up with stupid Buying Nintendo Games for Cash ad's. Like 5-6 a day. I flag the damn things every time I see them since I know those assholes are the same ones who flagged my Looking for Retro Games ad. I even stated outright in the start of the ad I was a collector, not a god damn reseller like those assholes. I guess they don't like me on their "turf".

Other then that our CL is filled with stupid Hardly Used Xbox One ads. Yeah I really want a used xbox one when I could just wait for a price drop if I wanted that steaming pile of shit...
  • Don't know what's the point with buyer feedback. Buyer feedback is fucken retarded since it's only positive anyways. Might as well make it auto if all the buyers want that fucken +1 on their score.

Goodluck with that ebay is always on the buyers side, the amount of problems ive had selling stuff and people contacting me after weeks just funny LOL. But i think with your issue you should be alright as its been over more then a month.

But with ebay you never know.

I only use BINs now.  I'd rather risk sitting on something for a month or two vs. having it go for a shitty price at auction.
  • I feel the same, but instead I set a minimum value I'll take, then the minimum BIN over that. I just can't go with the whole non-auction thing. I hate those greedy asses at ebay made the BIN now 30% over your price instead of 10%. That made it so much easier for people just to click and be done with it.
  • apparently. buying something on a monday and receiving said item the following monday is slow shipping now. smh. stupid ass buyers.
  • Not really eBay... but I have a 0 feedback asshole on gunauction.com whining that I won't let him bid on the Navy Luger I have listed at a STARTING bid of $2,500.
  • Um, this sounds craptastic:

Spring Seller Update: New performance standards will affect your status

    Dear (www.videogamedomain.com):

This summer, seller performance standards are being updated to reward those sellers most responsible for keeping buyers on eBay.

Starting with the regularly scheduled monthly seller evaluation on August 20, a new measurement, your transaction defect rate, will replace the current four detailed seller rating requirements used to evaluate your seller performance.

Your defect rate is simply the percentage of your transactions over the most recent evaluation period with one or more of the top predictors that a buyer will leave eBay or purchase less, such as an opened eBay Money Back Guarantee case, a return because the item wasn't as described, or negative or neutral feedback.

Based on the last seller evaluation on February 20, your defect rate is expected to be higher than the 2% maximum allowed for Top Rated Sellers.

Start now on improvements needed to lower your rate so you can regain your Top Rated status after the new requirements take effect August 20.

A low defect rate is important. It indicates that your buyers consistently receive the item they expect, when they expect it. Buyers won't see your defect rate. But in general, the lower your defect rate, the better your position in Best Match search results.

As a Top Rated Seller today, you've shown your commitment to providing great service. We appreciate that and we're here to help. We've arranged for an exclusive, one-on-one session with an eBay Outreach expert who can help get you back to Top Rated status as soon as possible. I encourage you to schedule your appointment today!
