Why is it that US Sellers are reluctant to ship to Canada? I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason for it but it's always disappointing

In the past on my old eBay account, I had sold and shipped one lot of games (for $230) and shipped it to Canada. I had shipped the package the day after I received payment. The buyer never messaged me and opens a case as soon as the estimated shipping period is over. I tried messaging the buyer and never got a response or any information to work with. Ebay sided with the buyer and I was out the money. I didn't get insurance because its expensive enough to do shipping to the Great White North. If I do ship to Canada I would charge the buyer for shipping, tracking, and for insurance. Canadian buyers don't like the expensive shipping (neither would I so I can't be mad at them) and its just easier to sell to US customers.
That being said, if you win an auction and are an NA member I will sell to you but with the additional shipping costs. Just message me on eBay when you pay and I will send an invoice for the additional shipping cost.

If I'm not mistaken, they won't even be able to bid on the items becuase they are not in the region you said you would ship to.

Thank you for the information, I didn't even realize that. I am submitting a request with eBay to be able to ship globally (and by globally I mean Canada). It will take up to 24 hours for them to process it and for me to edit which international country(ies) that I ship to.
