My Factory Sealed Zelda Phantom Hourglass Ds Lite VGA NG

I decided to list up my Factory Sealed Zelda Phantom Hourglass DS Lite. For anyone who hasn't seen this, this release was exclusive to the UK and was limited to exactly 1000 pieces (confirmed by nintendo).

This is still factory sealed, with all four tape seals intact and untampered with. Even better it has been authenticated by VGA and Designated an "NG" grade.

I haven't seen a sealed copy on ebay in over 4 years so this really is a rare opportunity to own a true piece of Zelda History.

Good luck and feel free to pm me if you are interested

Thanks

It stands for no grade usually given to prototypes. Honestly I would never own a game gradded no but that's just my personal opinion. Anyhow good luck with the sale man.
  • Yeah ng = no grade. Basically authentication without any grading component (of course the lovely VGA casing as we'll)
  • ehhh... authentication of what?

That the factory seal is legit and you are buying a 100% new & sealed awesome DS Lite.

Good luck sephiaya! You have way too many things I want. If I win the lotto put me down for the lot

  • Was this released in the UK only or is there another similar version of it as well? I can swear that i saw this for sales at Toys R' Us in Norway many years ago.

And why didn't it have a grade number then? If it's sealed and so awesome. I can't understand why didn't it qualify as graded

  • Attaining an NG is all preferential. It its effectively authentication without the grade component being added.

And thanks Andrew, i heard I'm getting a free Conkers and MM ;P
  • Inspecting the pictures - console has creases and damage, not to mention the ugly seal stickers. Hence why it was chosen not to be graded i guess, to avoid low grading number and low chances to resell....

Curious as to what you're looking to accomplish by your statements in this thread?

I saw only protos graded as NG before that, hence why it is very interesting why a legit console was graded as NG? See that for first time ever. There must be a valid point for that.

Yeah VGA wont give an "NG" to a reseal. Also those 4 pieces of tape (which is actualy a void tape; once removed the metal of the tape shows so you cannot restick it down) are how all of these were released.

As i said it's all preferential. I didnt like this item sitting in the cabinet getting dust so i sent it to be authenticated and cased (cost only a little more than getting a sliding bottom case for it).

  • NG was given to protos before, cause they had no seal/boxes/menuals/etc..But this is complete bundle from the store.

Why not give it a usual grading number then? That will be even more valuable and expensive with it IMHO. We all know that VGA is for numbers.

PS: To all curious. I am not a fan of grading at all. But i do not want to troll a thread or something, just want to find out some new information

Dark Sol has a "complicated" relationship with Michael Let's hope he can keep it in his pants on here.

"If you can request to get a NG instead of a true number rating, which would have been maybe 50 or sth like that for such a bad copy, it gives you a clear advantage

when selling it. It looks much better if you explain it like he did than just saying, "yay it looks pretty bad that's why it got only 50". "

pretty much explains everything for me, thanx.

  • Dark Sol I have seen you're VGA rants on other forums and have learned about the history between yourself and Sephiaya.

You KNOW every detail inside and out about VGA and their grading techniques, and to post in here acting like a 'noob' implies to me that your only objective is to try and bash the op, and/or his item.

Not a very friendly thing to do wouldn't you say?

Also, why do you have multiple accounts on NA? Is this allowed?

Incorrect. I haven't seen a NG legit game or console before, hence why i was so surprised about it. Thanx to previous users though i saw the threads where it was discussed. This has nothing to do with Mike at all.

As for 2 accounts = i'd be glad to have one instead. If you are curious about it - ask Dain or me in PM. I don't want to spread offtopic here.

  • My opinion is they shouldn't use "NG" and use "AU" for authentic or some other acronym for it. I think saying authentic instead of no grade would help with some of the confusion here. Many grading companies have authentication services with no grading so this isn't uncommon to see.
