So, I couldn't find a convenient time to meet this guy to buy a junk lot from him, and this is his response:
(preface: he said he needs the money to pay a fine or he's going to jail)
Him: "Me going to jail over you fucking with my head is more important then your damn weekend. You wasted my entire fucking day you pos. The last day I have to see my family and friends, you had me thinking I'm going to be able to pay off my fines and shit and then you take it right back. You know what? Fuck you"
Me: "Don't do things to put yourself in jail. Thanks for the kind words."
Him: "I got truancy for getting a job while being in school so I can help support my family. I'm sorry not all of us are fortunate enough to own a business and go away for weekends like your dumbass. You make me sick, I wish I knew where you lived I'd come there beat your fucking ass and beat you over the damn head wit a Sega"

Craigslist is full of crackheads incase anyone didnt know that yet. I do my best to stay away from it.
Yes the auction picture is sideways too. (and they spelled Sega Genesis Wrong) (Sega Genisis)
I pay right away.
2 days later I message the seller and ask if there is any shipping information available.
I get this message.
Dear evrhrt13,
did you get my previous message saying they shouldn't have sold for that cheap? my reserv price must have glitched out i diddnt want anything less than 150 there's 47 games and most of them have boxes and there are alot of rare games as well im not sure what to do but there definitely not worth wat you bought them for im sorry
- buymystuffplease901
They never had any type of reserve price, all of their listings were open auctions.
I tell them, Refund me immediately and you can save a negative. That was 4 days ago. I have already called ebay to report them as a non-selling seller, and I opened my item not received case today. They are not a brand new seller, so Paypal would have not put a hold on the funds.
I asked ebay if they can speed up the refund, since I have two messages from the seller asking for more money for the items. Nope, I have to wait 3 more days to escalate the case. She did say that they seller may be receiving information that would make them want to just ship me the items, but a fat lot of good that did.
Dickhead seller, that is not how ebay works. They had a chance for us to part ways without much ruckus, but no more. I think I will actually leave my first negative feedback over my 14 years on ebay soon.
I get this or something equally as stupid a bunch from trolling new BINs. You wouldn't believe how many things magically break immediately after they sell. The worst run I had was like 5 out of 6 all within a week. They were all bullshit. Can't physically make them put it in the mail, so leaving a neg is the only thing left. What gets me is now resistant people are about about leaving a neg. If the guy screws you and you don't do anything, how is the next person supposed to know?

If you leave a lot of negatives and just a few of those bad sellers complain for any reason, ebay will remove you and all of your negative feedback because you are a "problem buyer"...

Ugh. Did not know that. But I have a hard time seeing how they are going to call me a problem buyer for leaving feedback that says "refused to send item". Haven't had time to do this as much lately so it's not an issue anyway.
I got a Goodwill rant in the works for later, but does anyone else get a crapload of 'new' used Xbox One's popping up on Craigslist? My local CL gets about 3-8 posts a day for 'barely used NEW Xbox One's, most without the packaging and paperwork, all listed for full-blown brand new retail. Sometimes a single game or extra controller are included, but the prices on those posts are even HIGHER than what it would cost to buy all that stuff new. I'm not looking to buy a Xbone or anything remotely like that, but the over-abundance of these ads are just starting to piss me off.
This isn't a rant as much as a facepalm worthy issue. I bought a "like new" copy of Metroid Prime Hunters for the DS on half.com and this is what I received in the mail. Not only does this go against their policies for a like new copy of a video game but it's not even the right thing! It's the damn demo! Errrrrr, emailed the seller and will be filing a claim in a few days if a refund isn't issued. So stupid.

I think I'm understanding very clearly why this guy is going to jail. Seriously I've dropped an OCCASSIONAL f-bomb if I do something stupid during a video game or something but when he's just using it over and over in a threatening sort of way he sounds like some kind of street gang thug.
Okay, he wants to pull the freedom of speech card? You can reply, well terrific, I can do free speech too, and I say quit talking like a thug before I tell your mama on you, maybe she'll give you a nice good paddling and a 'tude adjustment! You sure could use them!
PS: Maybe send him a gift card to a local belt store because he probably needs it to pull his sagging drawers up too.
Why do people hit BINs and then not pay immediately? If you don't have money ready, then you shouldn't be hitting the BIN. Just move the item to your watch list instead.

It's especially silly when it's a $5 item!
i dont sometimes. Its because Im either on my phone and dont want to go through the process and want to secure the item and pay when I get to a computer etc.. Sometimes im buying for someone else and need to get the money sorted out. There are several reasons. And if someone pays in a day or two doesnt matter at all to me. especially on a weekend when you cant go to the post office anyway. There are several reasons.
I am so sick of people coming to my ebay store and sending me a $5 offer for a $50 game and then blasting me for it. Sending me messages like it's to pricey, it will never sell, I am a horrible person, etc... It like, okay, first off you sent me a $5 offer on a $50 game, second off the game normally sells for $65, and thirdly why the hell did you waste your and mine sending that offer.. I am just sick of these cheap people on ebay who then blast you for it. It's like on here if you hate the price don't bid on it or yell at the person.. If you can find it cheaper go for it..
I mean this happens my games no matter the price from a $5 game to a $100 game or more.. Just gets old, I just want to take those people and shake em.. BLAH
So if you put no returns on your listings. It now shows up as "Seller did not specify return policy." What ebay and amazon are doing is driving away the small seller and the small seller is the one who brings in the rare/hard to find shit. I see sites like ruby lane gaining momentum in the future.

First night the item is listed and the old, "Will you take xxx? I'll pay right away."
JNovo is right, it's here too. About a week ago I got an offer on my stack of NES games I had up then, and it was for 40% off what I asked and $6 flat for shipping which would have been not enough either. I countered a very fair return and never got a message back. It is more ballsy trying to find a sucker here though since more are informed than those on ebay, flea markets, craigslist, etc.

I don't even bother responding anymore.
Problem is on the best offer items, if they make a $3 offer on a $100 item, it still shows as there being X offers made and makes you look unreasonable as a seller.
speaking of terrible offers. Got a 45 dollars shipping and tracking included offer for DK jr nes cib. ummm no you piece of trash. Then get a 5000 word essay on why it should be that price, and how the manual is worth only 5 bucks and mine is in bad shape. Um if my manual is in bad shape whats that matter? since like you said its only 5 bucks. uggh.
I hate getting lectured by a naive buyer. Its 5 cents for me to leave that game on there per month. Im in no rush to sell it. Yeah its in semi poor condition. Yeah its probably too high. But I dont care. If my rolling discount hits the item which it will next month since I have the larger store. Thats 30 more off. Itll sell eventually since I sell internationally etc.
You know in a case like that if I even bothered to respond I'd actually agree with them that it is too much, but that you have little choice in the matter because if you priced it at what should be fair, a reseller (probably like yourself(to the whiner)) would just scoop it up and charge ($XXX) for it anyway and I choose not to burn myself. Either pay what it says or wait for a cheaper one.

I told them I know its a higher price. If I posted it as low as tehy wanted it that someone else would snag it before I could even tell them. Im im in no rush to sell it. I dont even care about it honestly. Its just there. The kept saying how common it was, if its so common then why do you see only 1-3 on there ever at a time. They then told me cib dk jr math was the one worth money and how mine wasnt and junior math would be worth 150. lmao. um ok. Way too low on that one as well
Honestly I dont mind someone offering a price. I can say thanks for looking, not looking to go lower right now blah blah blah and move on. I just cant stand someone lecturing me on price. Either buy it, offer and move on, or move on.
I don't mind either, but I won't go low enough to allow someone to resell it when offering up deals. Guy was clearly a slime bag trying to play all those angles like you're an idiot.
Reason #491 why eBay needs to bring back negative feedback for buyers:
A buyer hits buy it now on my item. They then message me saying "I just bought your item but have no money to pay for it with. I'm going to put moeny [sic] on my paypal in will pay in like 5 days or so. Pleas [sic] ship as soon as I pay."
I can't leave this guy bad feedback for basically putting an item of mine on hold, for free, until he decides to pay me... even if he doesn't pay me, I can't leave him negative feedback and have to wait another three-four days to relist the item after a non-paying bidder case closes. But if I don't ship it fast enough, this dick can mess with my seller ratings and cost me my discount percentage on eBay's already high fees for selling...
If this guy is a member here, I'm pretty sure I'll be nominating him for the HoS this is complete bullshit. Its free layaway... or saying "hold this for a week if I decide to pay"
I don't sell on ebay but I have seen a lot of talk as of late about ebay making it harder and harder to maintain your top seller status. I wonder if ebay does this on purpose so sellers lose it and ebay doesn't have to pay out the sweet discounts and make ebay more money.
I might be talking out of my butt so feel free to ignore me as I don't sell on ebay.

thats already proving correct. The DSR system didnt get rid of enough. So now they added more defects

Well you can thank the sellers who gave retalitory feedback and the resulting and VERY deserving outrage from buyers (myself included) that resulted. What that means is that a buyer buys an item, something goes wrong with it and the seller (one way or the other) does not correct the problem. The buyer leaves honest negative feedback for the seller...but of course the seller nearly always has not left the buyer feedback first so they are in a position to retaliate by negging the buyer when it was the seller who was in the wrong. That in practice will make some buyers scarred to leave negs to sellers even when totally justified out of fear of retaliation. So I very strongly disagree and say negs for buyers should never come back...or at the very least they should be removable if it is clearly shown the seller only did as retaliation.
Not paying for a BIN item for 5 days deserves a negative. Tough shit that buyers got pissed that they could have a negative left. I just had a neutral left because I had the nerve to ship a $4.99 item in a bubble mailer. Will eBay remove it? Nope. Buyers don't pay eBay fees, sellers do, yet we're the ones that get bent over and fucked on a regular basis by picky collectors, dipshits with unreasonable demands, and scammers.

there are far more pos buyers... if you dont sell in quantity you have no idea really what its like. Buyers ruin good sellers accounts and sellers are left helpless. If a seller wasnt impacted as hard for even one neg or neutral or low dsr then the feedback wouldnt matter as much and if you leave a neg ill move on. But since its hundreds of dollars a month on the line, its a bullshit system, and things happen. Buyers dont understand that. They hold sellers hostage on a daily basis.

I might be talking out of my butt so feel free to ignore me as I don't sell on ebay.

I don't sell on ebay but I have seen a lot of talk as of late about ebay making it harder and harder to maintain your top seller status. I wonder if ebay does this on purpose so sellers lose it and ebay doesn't have to pay out the sweet discounts and make ebay more money.

thats already proving correct.

So I very strongly disagree and say negs for buyers should never come back...or at the very least they should be removable if it is clearly shown the seller only did as retaliation.

there are far more pos buyers... if you dont sell in quantity you have no idea really what its like.
