ebay question

I purchased an big item on 12/7/08, the seller states they cannot seem to find  a box to ship the item, I understood at first, but now I'm not so sure. I don't want to call them a liar and rush to make a dispute, but how many days do I have to file a dispute for item not received 30 or 45. I want to file a dispute and tell the seller just to keep the transaction open. any suggestions and how many days do I have to file a dispute

    The biggest you can ship Ups or fed Ex is 130 inches (length + Girth) I have found that in the past for shipping big items like your talking about, Go to a U-haul and buy a Wardrobe box (13.50) or so and cut it down to meet the requirement. See if this works for you.

    i would probablly file the dispute now. i mean come on its been over 30 days, that is compleatly unexcuseable shipping time for e-bay. i dont care what his excuse it.

    Yeah dude, I file disputes much faster than that whenever the seller seems shady as in this case. The dispute doesn't hurt anyone because you can cancel it at any time. If the seller gets offended tell him tough shit and that you've been scammed before so you are just covering your ass. If he still doesn't understand and wants to get hostile then it's a good thing you filed the dispute because he's obviously trying to screw you over anyway.

    i thought it was only 30 days but maybe they changed it a while back. Either way make a claim now cause if you go past the days you'll have no chance of getting your money back.

    I file ASAP as ebay has to be notified to get idiots like this off of there. As for paypal it has to be within 30 days of purchase or you will get screwed as i have in the past. I lost out on $500 on some car parts 2 months ago as when I filed with paypal they told me it was too long to file a claim. Thanks paypal for protecting the buyer. I finally got my cash back a few weeks ago as I guess he had a change of heart or the fact I told him i had his address and would show up at his door. If your gonna rip someone off make sure they dont live within a 2 hour drive like this guy. LOL
