A Wild Nintendo Dolphin Appears!!!

This morning I had no intentions of finding anything video game related at the swap meets. I did my usual Saturday routine. Go to the swap meet at 5:30am and scavenged for anything that caught my eye. I got to the booth that normally puts out junky crap which looked like it would be this time around. But as I walked up to the table, I noticed a PSP with an unsual cord sticking out of it. Then I noticed a couple of PS2 HDD and then some Nintendo Gamecube Software that said development on it. Now I got really frantic searching for the one thing those software discs could lead up to. And low and behold it appeared... THE NINTENDO DOLPHIN!! And the rest is history.... Gathered all my crap and paid the man a price that would hurt some of your feelings

Sorry I was too lazy to take a bunch of pictures as it is a lot of stuff. I put up a video like usually do when I find some crazy stuff. I know it's long but you'll have a more in-depth look at everything I found!

Enjoy!

  • wow nice score
  • How much did you pay for it ?
  • Wow that's just sick...gratz!
  • Stunning find there. Any idea which studio that dolphin kit came out of?
  • Actually after watching whole video...dang dude, great stuff there

Sabertooth is from X-Men if i remember correctly? May be development from existing games or some that never realised?

About PSP tho, I dont remember but may be it is from a display unit?
  • That is sweet...
  • I caught a wild Nintendo dolphin back in 1997 when I first got Wave Race 64. You are way late. Very cool though!
  • Sweet find! How could someone own that kind of stuff and not know what it's worth?

I bet you go back to that vendor next week!
  • Nice score
  • I'm jealous
  • Dolphin development kits are very common on ebay and pretty useless. All the tools/knowledge/information people have on the snes, nes etc (older less complicated systems) and they can't develop games for shit. lol. So as complicated as the Dolphin is its worse. This isnt made to play gamecube games, its just to develop them and as i pointed out no one has ever developed a game on that. This is why all everyone does is sell it on ebay since there is no practical purpose.

Also the version you have isnt even complete since its missing the storage medium.

  • This is freakin' awesome. Where in CA?
  • Damnit! I mean.....well done.
  • Ahh what an awsome find, one day I'll find one, one day....

  • Finally found a Nintendo Dolphin in the wild, so happy!

However, I bet you would pick it up if it was the right price. This guy is pumped and you come across negative about it. No one asked what it could/couldn't do nor if it was complete, so not sure why you have to chime in if it's only going to be negative.

To the OP, great find! I'd love to run across one.
  • Thanks everyone! I powered it up to see if it boots up and it does. But there's not much more I can do with it. I run an iMac and don't have the proper equipment nor skills to get any further than booting it up. So this is pretty much going up on the marketplace.

Yup soo dumb. Why would you even want that. You just going to put it up on your shelf with all the other stuff  you don't play? Huh?

Sweet score. Never saw one until today. Glad to see your still out hitting the markets. I watched your videos in the begining but then they dissapeared. I'll check back to see if your making any new ones.

  • Excellent find, I'd love to find a 64dd in the wild in NA. haha
  • Dude that's insane, awesome find!
  • Nice. Really jealous here.
  • Wow that is really neat, did the seller say if he worked for a game developer or anything?

The seller purchases storage units to sell at the swap meet like storage wars. So the original owner of the storage unit was indeed a developer. It seemed like he was for Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.

You actually got me motivated right now! I got a name and company he currently is president of. Now I'm going to try and get in contact with him and see if I can get any more info!

  • Sorry if I sound ignorant for asking but, what kind of information would want from the original owner?
  • that is a nice score. congrats! dev stuff in the wild is legit
  • If the original owner lost his unit because he failed to pay. Which is why these units go to auction. Do you really think he will want to deal with the new owner of his lost possessions??? If anything he might be pissed you contacted him. Something about falling on hard times can bring the bitterness out in a person when confronted.
