Nintendo glass doors
So in my local KMart is finishing up closing permanently. I have been slowly getting small Nintendo items such as small display shelves for accessories and some cardboard signs for various systems. Today, they have sold all of their merchandise and are open until Wednesday to sell the fixtures. They have a Nintendo shelf in the electronics department that they tore down and threw away (they were asking $200 for it and I could NOT afford that). They had kept the glass doors to take the locks off of them (it was an LP thing to keep the keys/locks) before they threw the glass away. I went in and made an offer and the managers that I talked to an I decided that $10 per panel was a good price. I was STOKED. My girlfriend isn't too happy about the clutter but when we get a bigger space and some free time I plan on building a shelf unit with these as the doors.
I will quit rambling and get to the pics. I paid $24.38 total for both of them. Dimensions are approx. 4.5 feet tall, 3 feet wide. Not too shabby.

Pic of the handle on either side:

Pic of the bottom. They threw out the track for it to slide on so I will have to find one or make one

Hope you guys like this stuff. There is an upcoming Collectors Corner post with a related item...

Yeah the pricing with everything (fixtures and merchandise) leading up to their final days was just a fail. I wanted to negotiate on the price of the shelf and they wouldn't even consider my offers - three days later they threw it away. I was baffled.
Another day, I wanted to get Skyward Sword for 60% off but when I checked out it was only at 20% off and they wouldn't honor the 60% off sign right in front of the damn game. Didn't buy it. The whole situation has been poorly run, no wonder they're closing the store. I'm just glad to save these from being thrown out.

Great minds think alike! I snagged this from a Kmart by me as well and I am building a custom cabinet just like you were talking about doing!
Haha, that is awesome!!! It looks like you got some of the actual casing, back wall, lower section, and the track for it. Unfortunately they threw it out at my K-Mart. If you have any blueprints or measurements or tips to send my way I would appreciate it!

Yeah, I made sure to take as much as I could. case/track/lower section all came with it, but I made the backboard piect out of plywood. I got 10 shelves to go inside it as well. Shoot me a PM when you start to build it and I can try to help in any way I can. It shouldn't be too difficult to build the case, but the track might be a little tricky. But for that price, you just can't beat it!

I really appreciate any help I could get. I have almost no room for anything else in my tiny apartment but when I move to a bigger space I will definitely be contacting you for advice or at least pics to give me a general idea of where to start. I'm really nervous about getting a track to work but I think I'm going to head back to the store this week to see if they had track for any other displays that I can salvage
I picked up all four from when my Kmart closed down. Paid 125$ for it all. I sold off the two plain ones and set up these two.
