If you send them an e-mail they get back to you pretty quickly, just remember they charge for custom cases, not sure how much it would cost for one that large... I know I have seen some guys grade the n64 systems so I know they do it but thats all the info I have.

That sounds good. I'll email them shortly. Thanks Alex.
Does VGA grade non-console games? I recently got the craving to buy a sealed big box PC game, and if I do, I'd like to get it graded. I've never gotten anything graded before, and I checked the VGA website and didn't see any examples of anything except console games.

One more question. I may want to get a game "Qualified" graded, but I'm unsure if it has all of its original inserts, or if it has been played before (I don't even know how VGA can tell if it's been played). Will they tell me what inserts are needed in advance, or do I need to mail it in with payment and just hope for the best?
From my experience they will reject a game if it does not have all the inserts. I would email them and ask, I doubt they give out that information but couldn't hurt to ask. Though there are plenty of people on NA who could answer your question about what inserts should have game with a game. There is a long list some where too.
How would they know that game A or B has all inserts or does not have them i wonder? There is no database for such things.
Hey mate!
This I cannot answer, I just know when I tried to grade a game one time, VGA said the clear baggie was missing and they rejected it. They sent me a list of game contents it needs to have so I don't know if they go off having a certain number of things like manual, clear bag, etc, or they have someway of knowing all the contents for every game lol
80 and up tends to look good and be in universal "collector quality", so you shouldn't see any value loss, but obviously higher grades will usually fetch more. Unless it is a very plentiful or modern game, 80 shouldn't be a price detraction in most cases.
Depends on the title and platform. Unless it is really rare, I draw the line at 85 on cardboard games. On modern stuff you're wasting your time unless it's 95 and up.
What is the "label style" that people use? Based on the description, it seems like I want the "clear view style label". Is that correct? I want it to look like this (this item isn't mine, just a pic a took from ebay):
hey everyone, I have a question as I'm kind of stuck on what to do. I have a copy of donkey kong jr math and I'm not sure if I should send it to have a grading done on it. what are the pros and cons to having it graded? is it worth it? I understand it's pretty rare to find this game with the box. I don't have the manual, but the box is in pretty good shape and I want to sell it, but is it worth putting the money into having it graded or should I just take very good pics and ebay it? let the bidders go at it and hope that it sells for a good price. any advice would be much appreciated!!
VGA only grades sealed games or "brand new" unplayed games, not just opened and complete games. Definitely not loose carts or boxed games without manuals.
And turnaround time is about $75 per game for 3-4 weeks (plus shipping), closer to $40 per game for 2-3 months.
How much will cellophane scratching harm the rating of a game ? I have a mario 3 with lots of scratching on the front and some on the back but otherwise is in very good condition, just curious if it would be worth grading or not.
I have a sealed playstation 2 game with the circular hole in the UPC code under the cellophane. If I ask them to grade it and give it the denomination of "UPC cut review copy" (story I've heard) would it affect the actual condition and thus the grade?
Just a general potentially dumb question, I want to buy a couple sealed nes games. Would you think its better to just get them raw and send them in for grading myself or would it be a cheaper route to buy already graded games? Any help is appreciated, Thanks!
Most likely depends on what grade you want to go after. For "non-flashy" titles if it ain't gold it ain't really worth crap. So in that instance I'd say if you just want some to have some and are ok with 80, 80+, or even 85's in some cases just buy them cheap on eBay. For nicer titles even silver grades can get very pricey and if you can find a nice raw copy that you are sure is legit it may pay in the long run to buy it and submit. Just be prepared to wait....
Is it common to have the stickers so poorly placed that they can not be read? Check out the below ebay auction. I checked out the serial number (71279779) and it checks out. Man that is ugly.

^ That brings up a good point actually, the VGA online submissions system defaults you to that "Classic" view, yet 99% of people get the "Clear" view. I believe that is because "Classic" is more popular in toys, but the system should definitely default to "Clear" on game submissions. Could confuse some 1st time submitters.
I am not a fan of the classic view, but that is not what I was talking about. I was referring to the how the sticker containing the score is placed. The edge of the sticker curves around on to the front of the case instead of being solely on the side. The bottom of the sticker can not be read from the front because the bottom of the sticker is actually stuck to the front of the case.

I think the answer is that since the classic style is very, very uncommon with games, then no- it is not common for the label to be that bad.
So I have a few questions about this whole VGA "grading". Its not really my thing but I have been trying to understand it. First why are people charging insane amount of money for them on ebay? Second what does the rating do? Like does it really make the game worth more because of a case and number on it? Third, What is the purpose?

Wizard's list on here would be a great place to start though.

That is called "Classic" view, the view with the sticker on the front is called "Clear" view.
