Another great find! Color Dreams in the wild

I drove 20 miles out of town to a garage sale that was posted on facebook. They advertised it as "Huge multi family sale - electronics, video games, and tools"

sounds good. get there. nothing. I managed to find a Wii Nunchaku that was new/sealed in blister, which sucks cause i actually need one and won't open this one -_-

Driving home with sorrow in my heart and longing in my head, i stop by a most peculiar private owned thrift shop called "Thrift Shop"

Mostly antiques, some VHS's. again, nothing good. i get in my car and go to leave when i look to the right and there's a resale store called "Resale Store" in the same strip mall. So i park in my same spot and walk over. i browse for 10-15 minutes. few ps1 titles, a disc cleaner, odds and ends, then the attendants (two older ladies that look like antique road show appraisers) tell me they're closing up, so i popped the question that leaves breath baited and hearts racing, "Do you guys have any older video games in back?"

First lady, "You mean like Atari? we don't get those"

Me, "No a bit newer, like Nintendo games."

Second Lady, "You mean the Marios?"

Me, "...exactly."

a few moments later they rustle around in back and bring a brown shopping bag out packed with NES games.

Second lady, " We haven't had time to put them on the shelves yet, they came in a few months ago and we forgot about them. $3 each if that's okay with you."

after a quick glance it was more than okay with me but i didn't have enough cash on me to take the lot and they didn't look the type to take plastic, so i asked, "Would you do $2 a piece if i take the lot?"

"Sure!" from both of them.

A fairly common lot and mostly doubles for me, but i managed to land a pretty uncommon game i've been looking for for quite some time. i'm sure you'll know which one.

  • Yeah nice no kidding it's uncommon, that Konami game is fantastic. At $3 I think a collector would get a little chubby in the cherub having that game pop up so cheap.
  • OH! I just noticed i got Chubby Cherub! I've been so stoked to finally have Golf and looked right past that!

haha Chubby Cherub was one of those games that was on my want list for a long time but only if i scored it in the wild.
  • Nice score on the Golf! I know that one is super uncommon! All kidding aside great haul man and especially at that price!
  • great score mostly because nearly all of these carts were label upgrades for me so it was worth it to buy the lot for the collection and the resale/trade aspect.
  • Always ask....great score.

haha she said "good thing you asked"

i wanted to say "Bitch, i always ask."
  • Ha, nice score dude.
  • appreciated! i've had a local dry-spell that i'm pretty sure was self-inflicted cause i already bought everything haha. But this was a nice mid-week surprise
  • Definitely a sweet score! Can hardly ever go wrong with $2 NES games.
  • Better check that Golf game, might be $5K in there!

Nice score, I always ask and always get "No" in response. I also ask about games...
  • anudder huge score yesterday. the NES and Gameboy lot came from a guy on craigslist, the guy had no idea how to price them individually so we agreed on $40 for the lot. PS1 titles came from a local store that sells lots of old stuff. the PS1 games have been sitting there forever and most of his prices are very high, but i finally asked how much the PS1 games were this time and he said $5 each haha whoops, i shoulda asked long ago. Also found some dreamcast titles and small stuff earlier that day. Not my biggest score but my first Color Dreams find in the wild and i'm glad it was Master Chu
  • Nice Master Chu ya got there! GI joe Atlantis Factor is pretty sweet, too
  • Master Chu, GI Joe, Spiderman, Hook, Cyberball, and Captain America were all on my "need list" so this was one of my better lots lately. usually i get one game i don't have and the rest are doubles
