$5 Goldstar 3DO at Goodwill

Found this at a Goodwill for $5. The D pad on one of the controller is kinda weird (but still works). Other than that it seems to work great!

$5 is a little more than I'm used to paying for 3DOs (the only other one i've even seen was a Panasonic at a flea market for $2), but i think i did pretty well!

  • Heck of a deal
  • I'll give you $15!
  • Now thats a deal. Id pay $10 or Id pay $20 so its worth $5 for sure! Congrats!
  • Nice pick up, the Goldstar units are a bit more rare than the regular Panasonic ones. Def a nice grab...only crappy thing is that the Goldstar is like 95% compatible with the games, some didn't work on the console per programing errors. And the D-Pad is a bit stiff so that's normal.

Well the D Pad on the controller is a single circle piece and the piece can spin completely. Maybe i need to open the controller and see if there is something i can tighten inside.

that's strange, but hey from a goodwill I guess you can't always get the best condition items, but as long as the system itself works, the control pad isn't hard to replace, I wish I had an extra one to send, but mine are all sealed up. Best wishes!

No worries! I actually had a collection of 3DO controllers before I got this anyway, so i'm not worried about it!

I have the 2 that came with the top loading Panasonic that I got a while back. I found 3 or 4 off brand sealed controllers at a goodwill, and I found a couple of sealed Goldstar controllers at a goodwill. So i'm pretty good on controllers! Just thought it was a pretty odd defect for a controller to have.

Wow awesome, my goodwill has a huge stock of old PS2 sport titles!  Lol, nice find man...maybe somebody will drop off some 3DO games for you next time around!

  • Nice score man! I was an original owner of the 3DO back in the early 90s. I later sold it in 1997 and 50+ games for $35...

lol, same thing at 90% of the thrift stores I go to! But I know a few  that are pretty consistently good!

I did manage to pick up a few 3do games for $1 each at a flea market on a trip in MS last year. Thats the only time i've ever seen any 3do games yet.  Found a CD-I game for a dollar the other day, gotta try to find one of those systems one of these days. Have yet to ever see one.

I still regret some of the stuff I sold back in the day! Feel so dumb about some of them! But, I think pretty much everyone did that back then! Live and learn

  • I sold all my N64 games which were all the first party games like Mario and also my Conkers Bad Fur Day for 50 cents each or so to get the last of the money needed to buy an Xbox on launch date at Gsmestop when I was 12 or so. Don't feel alone on stupid decisions
