NA has some of the best people in this hobby

I'm sure someone will laugh at this next sentence but it is just that.

A moderator here finally figured out how to make me speechless, and without being shown the door no less.  That would be JD.

I'm sure some are aware at least for a better part of a year now I've been trying to track down I'm Kid Dracula/retrozone and have hit a wall between religiously watching here and panning over ebay every few days for it and zero luck at all.  He mailed me it with a personal note as a surprise in the mail.  I pulled up in my car today feeling pretty good as I found some fun things at the flea with my kid this morning and I see two packages.  One was something I expected, and then another from JD and I didn't register the name at first.  I opened it up pretty confused about it, then saw this personal note and I peered through the pink bubble bag and saw IT!  My eyes almost watered up on that and I was just shocked.  I've been sitting there for a few minutes and I still need to write something to him but I'm at a loss for words.  I know I tend to piss some people off here so it was the last thing I'd ever expect to be surprised with.  JD is definitely not just good people, but a great person.  Truly thank you.

No doubt.  I tried to ask if he wanted anything in return and it seems not.  I'm not used to very kind freebies.
  • JD actually did a very similar thing for me as well this week. He offered me a cart i have been in search of for years, and refused to accept any sort of payment for it. If anyone has his paypal address, i'd love to at least toss him something, if nothing else, for shipping it to me.

i hope that all the karma he is sending out will help him in his personal life, it sounded like from the thread he was having a rough time.
  • Great stuff! It's always good to hear these kind of stories.

  • Thats awesome. NA continues to blow my mind with the awesome people on here. Hopefully someone can find mega man 5 for me and trade it for mega man one
  • Wow thats awesome Best way to add to the collection
  • Definitely and I'm glad people are enjoying the post. As it is now I have the game put in with my other stuff right in a row (A-Z) and I stuffed the note in with the game as I sleeved it as all my games have one. Been busy today clearly, but yesterday I hit it pretty nicely and got into the third stage. It is notably harder than the GB version we got.
  • Ha! I ended up losing the eBay auction to JD then.. by $1! Glad to see it stayed at NA!
