I Don't Understand Target's Markdowns

They only had three copies in the case, so I bought all they had. About a week ago I bought 2 copies of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for $8 each.

Does anyone know why some games are clearanced out? I assume it has to do with how many they sell within a certain time period. Whenever I go to Target, I always make my rounds through the video games to check for discounted games.

Thanks for this beautiful discovery. I was able to go to target and snag a couple for myself!
  • Went to one of my local targets last night, but it was marked $24.98. I was kind if disappointed and didn't pick it up. Black 2 was still normal price for some reason.
  • Despite being a chain I think the mark-down policies vary by region and maybe even by districts within given regions. The Targets near me never go below like 75% of what modern games cost with their "clearance" sections. I used to look, but nowadays I don't bother.
  • I picked up another two copies today. This time it was Pokemon White, not Pokemon White 2. I'll be on the lookout for Black and Black 2 as well
  • Damn I need white. Im stopping there Thursday on my commute.

Yeah, as usual, Canadian Targets never get deals like this. Usually they mark down their game like $10 at most and have a terrible selection.

I hate that the bargain bin games are all $20. I -might- buy some if they were $10 or less, but i'm not paying $20 for a shitty game.

Yeah, it's very rare that I see any games for less than $15-$20 regardless. Once in a while, but it's usually crap, like you said. I've actually got some good deal at Staples of all places. I don't think people realize that they sell games, so they get heavily discounted after being there for months on end.
