I just graduatd and went home for some R&R. Got to cleaning the attic and found some stuff I didn't even know I still had. I already posted the gaming stuff in a regular Finders Keepers Thread, here is the non-gaming stuff.
My mom called me at school 2-3 years ago and asked if she could sell the stuff in a garage sale. At the time she was going through hard times financially so I told her to go for it. She ended up not having the sale due to rain. The toys were mine, my brothers/sister's and cousins toys all combined. Cousin came and took TMNT stuff already this morning for his kids and the deal was he got those if I could keep all of the LEGOs. My siblings are indifferent to everything so they're all mine.

I'm not big into board games but I really dig strategy games. Always tried to find a complete older version of Risk for a decent price and today was the day. I got this one at the flea market for 10€ which isn't bad considering you have to pay at least twice that on eBay plus the shipping for these is obviously a nightmare. The box has a rip on one side as you can see but that's a common problem. Other than that it's in nice shape and most importantly all the components are there

I love board games. Risk is a classic.
I too picked up a board game recently:
Super Battle Tank 2 is there for size reference.
Sure its in a language I don't understand but who cares! It's a game, and those are near impossible to find these days, video or otherwise.
So much good stuff. You have the Power Ranger Power gun/sword, Mighty Max and a ton of Beast Wars. Those were all a huge part of growing up in the 90's. Awesome stuff dude.
Went to my favorite book store/game store last week and couldn't resist. One of my favorite purchases in a long time! Sorry for crappy pictures:
Went out yesterday and picked up a couple things:
Pair of Sea-Doos for $20
A purchase with too many assumptions on my part... It was a mystery G5 with 2 Cinema Displays. The guy said that he didn't have any power cables, and I was like "LOL standard 3-prong cables, IDC" and give him $70 for them. Of course I was dead fricking wrong to think that Apple would use standard 3-prong power cables. The monitor PSUs are fricking expensive, and Apple thought it would be cute to use a 3-pronged cable BUT TURNED FRICKING SIDEWAYS.
I cracked open the computer and found it has a 2.5GHz Quad Core CPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD - so I'm now working on sourcing a cable so I can test it and hopefully recover my money on the computer. I'm not going to even bother with the monitors. I hate Apple.
I will be re-donating the silver plated pieces for my goodwill 20% off card.
20% off card? Do explain. Is there a secret to actually making Goodwill a good deal?
Goodwill's rewards program can vary. Where I am, most of the goodwills use a stamp card system (which they are about to stop doing). You get 1 stamp for every 10$ you spend, and when you get 10 stamps you can get 35% off your total order. I always carry one of these around me, just incase I go all out or something.
Also, my goodwill gives me a 20% off total purchase card every time I make donations (at least I think its total purchase, I will have to double check). I always have a couple of these on hand as well.
Recent finds include
Harmony Remote H659
Thermos sipp vacuum insulated drink bottle 16 oz new
1976-1978 Functioning Animal Muppet made by Fisher Price
Today's flea market score, at least I hope. 30 carded LJN WWF Superstars figures from the early '80s. Dude bought them new and had them in storage for all this time. He knew they were worth a few bucks but he had them priced decently compared to eBay completed listings. Shot the shit for a while and I made him a bundle offer on everything. Now I have to clean these up a bit and get rid of 'em. Sadly none of the packages are mint, all have shelf wear, creases, cracked blisters, etc. but I think I'll do OK on them.
Got these today at the local indoor big flea the KY expo center gets on large holiday weekends. The white truck is complete, the green is missing the back gate(should be closed on all sides) and optional trailer.
I've got other things lately too there are images of in the link just below, more vintage toys.
Panasonic Electronic Calculator (JE-8433U) with soft case. Pretty cool, the buyer was "Datamath Calculator Museum" that apparently has some online museum for different older calculators. Not a huge sale but it only cost me 95 cents. Ended up going for $25 shipped.
Apple G5 Ultrathin USB Keyboard - $1.90
I also picked up a pretty rough TI-83 Plus calculator that was missing the battery cover for 95 cents. Been ok lately on the non-gaming stuff and a lot harder to find games.
If you ever see a city starbucks mug, pick - it - up! Of the past three mugs I found I was able to sell each one for about $50 each.
..Then, I found this one.
I remember that day well. I went into goodwill and no one was there. There was only one cart, what I would refer to as the glass cart. They seem to put out glass items like cups and stuff one day a week and that seems to be all the new stuff they got in. I saw the cart and went over to it. Knowing that all starbucks mugs are always worth buying I bought it thinking it was worth 35.99-50. I saw no sold listings, or current listings on ebay. It was rare. I wasn't sure if I should put it up for auction or sell it for $35.
Then the other day I was going through the items I have for sale and found this and looked it up again. It had just sold for $300 at auction with 32 bids. I took some great photos, and listed it for $350. Then I googled it and this thing is so rare that the main websites were blogs for rare mugs. The blog said that in 2008 it sold for 550$ at auction, and that at the time of the posting there was another auction for the same mug at $800. This is insane... Shortly after my initial discovery I noticed another one had just gone up for sale for $650 and included its original packaging. At the time of typing this, that posting seems that it has been removed. I don't mind sitting on it for a while if it means I can get $650 for it...
This one mug has virtually paid for all the games and gas that I would possibly have to pay out of pocket for video games this summer.
Since I first started looking 6 months ago I have found 4 mugs so far! When you are going out always make sure to check the glassware for any starbucks mug.
When I found out what I could potentially get for it I was completely blown away. If you are out thrifting as much as I am, you should always try to make the best of your time! These starbucks mugs are like gold and even if its not worth all that much they still are fun to own.
Anyone a fan of Mr Ed? This puppet used to talk(broken, probably fixable but I have no idea how to unstitch let alone restitch it, but is in otherwise amazing shape for something Mattel put out in 1962 and only cost me $10.
I know I would sleep soundly with that above my bed staring at me...
Perhaps you need a message sent? This on your pillow when you wake up with a bloody neck simulated with hollywood stunt blood. Don't mess with la familia.
I have found a lot of good stuff so far this summer. I just need to take pics of it all. Cool stuff...and that coffee mug is crazy...and that horse is umm..interesting?
Interesting works. I'm into vintage toys and games so if you see the other posts I do I tend to find stuff around these parts that are just not things you ever see when I was back out west for a few years. I'm no expert at it, but I do like to restore stuff too like a pedal car I completed to a level I can handle last October from the mid 1960s. It's fun having this topic to show things when you find them whatever it is.
A couple weekends ago I found for a dollar a sound blaster x fi go pro and had no idea what it was even with the manual in the box. Found out that basically you can pop it into a usb slot and it upgrades your audio to EAX 3D like their nicer audio cards do which is clearly nicer than laptop speakers. That same weekend I found this space suit mickey that most would think isn't special, but I happened to have for months now the rocket he goes on that's a 1960s space ship kaleidoscope which completed that toy for a dollar too. It's isn't always about games that is fun to be on the look out for.

LEGOs galore! 2 huge bins, some partially put-together sets, boxes and a ton of instructions!
instructions - some highlights. I am still going through this but each set pieces all seem to be present
boxes - highlights
partial sets - still finding more and pieces to complete each as well
Star Wars/MIghty Max Beast Wars. Star Wars are all Micro Machines, Tonka, or Action Fleet sets. Still finding more peices as I go through boxes.
If you want TMNT toys you can build them out of legos.
One of the downsides of your parents getting divorced after you grow up and move out, all your childhood shit disappears.

Still Sealed.
Street Fighter the Movie Laser Disc
I am going from Memory, but I think that is the classic Sam Goody, Musicland, Suncoast Movies price sticker style.
The ones in the box look like they got wet when their basement flooded, the ones in the tote are fine. Some are still sealed.

Sold for $75 shipped. So cleared $40 on it.
Funny thing is I saw it and passed, i mean its a monitor. But then i went back to the car and ebayed it. Walked right back and picked it up.
