Looking for a list of the best arcade games ever made that were eventually ported to the three classic systems listed. It doesn't matter if the Nintendo version sucked (Dragon's Lair).

    Agreed with Dragon's Lair. The arcade was great. Not so much on NES though.

    My #1 of all time is/was Bubble Bobble and it was ported to umpteen million consoles, including the NES. The only problem is that NONE of them can compare with the original... that's okay though, as I've got the arcade machine itself image

    turtles in time , i have never played the arcade version but i hear the port (which is one of my favorite games of all time) is one of the only games that is better than the arcade version

    Yeah, Ninja Gaiden was in the arcades. But it was more of a Double Dragon clone, and a poor one at that. They thankfully reworked it for the NES release.

    Not on the subject but arcade related. Does anyone know the name of the arcade game where you are a guy wearing armor and you are going through different floors of a castle and crap flys at you from the front and you have to hit it with your shield or sword to protect yourself and it basically just knocks your armor off before you get to the boss dude on each level. The controls were a lever and a high, mid, low strike. You basically keep smacking the bad dudes shield until it breaks into only half then go after his armor to knock it off then stab them in an exposed area. I can't remember the first bad guy but the 2nd one is a girl and I believe you have to face her twice... then the next guy I think looked like Karnov dude bigger fat guy with no armor but was alot better with shield and I believe you had to beat him 3 times. That's usually about as far as I got on my quarters when I was a kid. If I could only have one arcade machine I would LOVE to own this game.

    put me down for street fighter 2. I walked up and got dominated by someone using ryu, and have been obsessed ever since. I also loved the 720 arcade even though I was never good enough to play for long.
