I found mine locally at Toys 'R' Us.
Cool, thanks. I actually didn't think about checking Toys 'R' Us, haha.

The Lego store is a dangerous place for me because then I end up spending more money on Legos than I intend to lol.
Well you have to spend at least 75 to get that free shipping, lol
Add a zero to that number and that's probably how much I could spend in Star Wars sets alone lol. I definitely want to get the Ewok Village, Sandcrawler, and Jabba's Sail Barge to go along with all the other sets I have. Speaking of Star Wars, I spent the last two days building this set, the Republic Gunship. This was a fun build and the ship has a lot of functions, including firing missiles, a ramp for the speeder bike, pivoting front and back laser cannons, pivoting side cockpits, and adjustable side panels. It also has a gray Technic arm piece on the top that allows you to hold the ship a bit easier and still be able to access all the features if you were playing with it. White fluffy dog in the background not included in this set
Lego Star Wars is releasing a bunch of awesome original trilogy stuff this summer. AT-AT, snowspeeder, star destroyer, etc, so if you're tired of the prequel stuff, wait for those to come out in August.
Also the Simps figs I got at Wal-mart for $3.49 each, which is cheaper than the Lego shop.

I bought some this week because they were on clearance. I got a Star Wars ship for $20 and about 2 months ago, I found one of those store displays for Chima at an auction. It was the biggest one I believe. I'm not a collector by any means, but the store display was just too awesome to pass. I am looking for the power adapter, so if anyone has insight on how to get that, I'm all ears.

Do you know the voltage requirements? You can probably buy a universal.
I don't but I am planning to look into it. It's kind of odd, apparently the power supply came in two piece and one piece comes attached to the unit. Then the adapter plugs in to the cord....almost like the concept of plugging an extension to an nes controller if that makes sense. I haven't looked at it in about a month so if have to refresh myself. I I'd take a pic on my phone of the plug to know what to look for.
Anyone still have their Mania Magazines? I was a subscriber for the first few years. If they haven't been thrown out they're probably all still in my Dad's bedroom closet.
I picked up a couple more sets today. Our walmart has a ton on clearance, but I know only certain sets are collectible. Do you guys know when Walmart does their markdowns for Legos? I have my eye on a couple more sets, but am holding off until they go a little cheaper. I heard they may have a markdown for Memorial Day, but not sure.
The video games of my childhood were the original Lego's from the 60's. Kept me entertained for hours and hours. Unfortunately I kept getting these younger brothers every few years so I had to share them and they got wrecked, lost, etc.
So one day I'm strolling through Toys"R Us 9 more than likely browsing for Video games when I see the Logo Mindstorms. OOO MMM GGG !!! Lego's had come a long, long way!!! Copuldn't leave the store without it. Sadly the software is outdated and won't Install on Windows 7 (not even sure if it works on Vista). The CD says "Windows 95/98" so XP hadn't even come out yet.
Walked into a Lego store just the other day. Noticed a Crane kit I really, really want. The latest MIndstorms kit would be nice to have also.
Just for kicks I also enjoyed the Wrebbit 3D puzzles. Still have almost all of the big sets. Bought the New York puzzle a couple years before 911. I've built it twice. I believe it's still the largest 3D puzzle they made. They do waste a lot of space when they're completed.
So, maybe I've just never noticed, but I found some sets on clearance yesterday and opened them to put the mini figures together and the heads had different smirks on their faces. Is that normal? It was only a couple different smirks per mini figure but interesting nonetheless.
I uh... hoard... medieval/fantasy minifigs and I'll buy garage sale bins of random pieces whenever possible. At one time I was trying to build a little Lego kingdom. Now everything just takes up storage until my son's old enough to inherit them. His father has a couple boxed Star War sets that he'll get as well.
man, don't know how I missed this thread. I used to have some of these sets (for sure one of the castle ones and one of the pirate ones). Those were some freaking awesome days

These I opened were from the castle set. 70400 was the set, but as I put them together, I noticed a difference and I literally thought I had been looking at them so long that my mind was playing tricks on me. Some of the faces looked determined while the others scared.
Im going to be buying selling and collecting legos officially now. When someone contacts you with a big tub of random legos where do you even start on price? I want a good resale type deal but dont know where to befin on random stuff. Sets etc are easier because i would tend to keep some and you can figure out price. Anyone buy tubs of random legos? Any tips?

When talking tubs of random/assort legos, it's typical to buy by the pound. I'm not sure if you plan on sorting it after, but you can get around $15-$20 per pound.

I've collected Lego for a few years now myself. For bulk, it is usually by the pound unless there are some rare sought after parts, those can be sold individually. Be prepared, tons of Lego bricks tend to end up with bite marks, are soiled, discolored, etc. Sets are the way to go but those get expensive quickly, along with many of the minifigures. Tons of people are into Lego now, mostly for the flip. There's a bubble that's just waiting to burst with people hoarding and sitting on sealed newer sets from the past few years. Also, lego takes up a fair amount of room...be prepared haha.

I thought $8 to $10 per lb was more of the going rate? Of course there could be regional differences when pricing this sort of thing. I typically don't pay anything more than $15-20 for anything loose, period, because of the hours and hours of organization involved. I do it to get the parts I need and I might pull $50-60 profit when all is said and done. Every once in a while I might get lucky and complete a set, but a lot of times I'll end up with partials missing figs that aren't worth while waiting on a marriage for.

So say a 30-40 pound tub of random assorted late 90s early 2000s. Would you offer something like 40 bucks? If you were selling them i figure you take out the unique pieces and sell them separate, lot up minifigs, then sell bricks by color( per pound or type?

Basically im looking at flipping tubs of random and keeping some sets. I expect it to be alot of work so i dont want to overpay based on time it takes me to do.

Before starting this thread i was reading about it. People for the last 10 years or so have been hoarding sets with exclusives. But im not really into spending tons of money for sets. Id have to get them cheap unless i buy them when they are still on the shelf. Im only nervous of buying tibs because it will take some time but i want it to be atleast semi lucrative. As you know i mainly sell game stuff but im broadening to other fields slowly and this one has my attemtion at the moment and ive already got some hits on my ad for them.
