Made a nice local CIB pick up, now I have questions

I picked up about 15 CIB games, nearly al have posters and all have inserts, nothing too notable but when I was going through them I found:

1.  In the Firehawk game there is an insert picture of Thor Aackerlund, stating "Camerica is setting new standards in game play"

2. Sealed Mig 29 in the top right hand corner it states: "World Champion Thor Aacerlund's Game Of The Month.

3. In The Little Mermaid box I found a poster of all the new capcom games coming out. One is California Raisens and it even tells you a little bit about the game on the back. (I know there is a repro of this game)

4. In Rollerball there wasn't a manual but a "poster type manual" Is this rollerballs manual?

5. Finally the one I'm more interested in. In the Ultimate Basketball box I found a poster of new or upcoming Sammy games. There was one I never heard of Ninja Taro...

Does anyone have any info or insight on any of this?

  • For Firehawk and Mig 29, Thor was paid by Camerica to endorse their games.  California Games was supposed to be realeased, and advertisements were made, but for a reason I'm not sure of, it didn't get released.  Not sure about Rollerball.   And I think Ninja Taro was released with a different name, but I could be wrong.  There was a thread on here about Ninja Taro a long time ago.
  • The manual scanned here at NA is a poster, so I'm assuming that's correct.

Jared you mean California Raisins not California Games, just to clarify.

Ninja Taro was a Fami game that just never got ported for whatever reason.

  • rollerball has a manual
  • Rollerball's manual is a fold-out, poster-like thing. I opened a factory sealed copy, and that's the manual inside.

Ninja Taro was never released for the NES, but it did make it to the Gameboy (and is semi-rare even for the GB).

  • @Dutchboy... I'm not sure how much you paid, but it's always nice to have some local finds, congrats!
