Poll: What kind of collector are you?

Alright guys, I want to see what everyone's collecting habits are. Do you collect loose carts, go for complete games, or splurge for sealed? Pick the one that best describes your current collecting habits (and not necessarily the current state of your collection).

I think I'm in the minority here because I am pretty much cool with cart-only, although I won't complain if I score a CIB game here or there image Seems like most people on this site collect complete games.

  • I was going for a CIB collection, that dropped down to mostly my Favs., Hard to get, and Black box games... which I've been putting serious thought into making it just black box games, so that I can get this crap finished. :\
  • Cart only, with a few manuals on the side
  • If a box comes with a game for the price of a cart, I'll keep it and any boxes I have had since a kid, but otherwise I only go for the carts.
  • I'm into CIB of all my favs. and Black Box games.
  • I collect only 8 or higher condition CIB games image
  • CIB of whatever I can get. Hopefully a complete collection one day, but not likely
  • Cart only, although I do have around 100 manuals. The boxes are cool, but they just take up far too much room and I'm mostly interested in playing. The manuals can be fun to read, but once again, they are far from necessary for me.

If I end up with a box I'll hang on to it until I get a double cart to sell with it and if I have the manual there's a good chance I'll make the auction CIB.
  • I collect only licensed loose carts, unlicensed are not very appealing to me. That said, I would love to finish this set.
  • Cart only, but there's a lot of pressure of my collector friends to go CIB. In fact, one of them is sending me 100 manuals which might just change my mind haha.
  • CIB all the way here, I expect to get into the 700s or so although I seriously doubt I'll ever get some of the higher tier games like SE and Myriad. I do still plan on getting Bubble Bath Bables / Peek / Hot Slots (I hear this one is hard), F2 and Caltron though someday...
  • I'm into mint cib's
  • I collect CIB, but that doesn't mean I don't pick up cart-only games. It's a lot of fun mixing and matching to get CIBs from loose carts, manuals, and boxes.
  • I love to play, but i am a collector too ... whenever i can i buy 2 copies of an important game on the day it's released.

If i can't afford it, i wait until a cheap sealed appears image

Obviously is very hard to get NES and Atari sealed games but i am trying to get at least my favorites image
  • I usually only go for CIB games, but also have a few sealed games, and a few cart only games.
  • I collect mainly Cart Only in good or better but If i can snag a CIB for just a little more I do it. have just over 100 CIB and over 6oo loose for NES
  • Well for Gameboy, NES, and SNES I only do Loose.

Fot SEGA Genesis I do CIB.
  • I just collect the carts for NES (boxes look nice, but there are too many rare/expensive ones for me to want to get into that), but I collect CIB for Sega Saturn.
  • I collect CIB, I'm about done, and I do dabble in sealed as well. I have around 70+ sealed games.
  • I go for whatever I can find. image
  • I'm a CIB collector. Nothing even goes on my shelves/into my collection unless it has the box.

I was a cart-only collector for about 2-3 years. Then I came to my senses.
  • Sealed collector for the most part.
  • i'm a CIB collector image
  • cart only. i like to play the games and try to justify buying them for that reason.
  • CIB all the way. Hopefully have a complete set someday way in the future.
  • CIB, but I only collect Nintendo-published games.
  • I go for anything, but I collect CIB. If I get cart, then I just try to find manual/box. I also pick up anything sealed that I can find.
  • I only collect CIB pal B games image
  • CIB mainly, but I have "upgraded" about 300 +/- a couple to Sealed over the last year or so since completing my CIB US collection.
  • CIB all the way
  • I am done my cart only collections. So now I am going to focus on sealed games.
