Anyone find Craigslist useful for selling games?

I was starting to get quite a pile up of doubles and didn't want them laying around my gameroom, so i decided to make a list of some commons and see if anyone was interested on craigslist.  I was pleasantly surprised with the interest in commons.  I listed them at $3 a piece and had about 45 NES, 50 SNES, and 20 N64.  In 2 days i probably had 8 emails from different people wanting to buy stuff.  I'd rather do this any day for my commons than bundle them all together and sell them on ebay.  Anyone else find craigslist to be helpful for selling commons?

  • If you live in a suburban or city like setting then I assume you would do just fine. However, as a rural guy myself there isn't much interest in my area...
  • Yeah, it's not hard to sell items but you'll usually have to deal with low-ballers ("I'll take them for $1 each AND you have to drive them to me!") and other idiots on craigslist/other sites like it.
  • craigslist is really good for selling the junk games. i used to live in st. louis and games would sell left and right (like SMB or TMNT, etc).
  • I just sold a NES with new pin, all cables, 1 controller for $70 on craigslist, then sent a list of games and sold another $30 worth of games to the same guy. Then to another guy sold about 7 commons for $25......So yeah it works and I encourage it, sure does save alot on ebay fees.
  • I use Kijiji a lot, I've sold multicarts for $40-45, And it seems you can sell about any game if the price is $3-4 per cart.
  • Not at all....for grins and giggles, I listed a lot a few months ago with stadium events, bonk's adventure, godzilla 2, and 5 other games with a top loader. I never got one message. I even had pics....lol.
  • i use it, i have sold some games/systems. sometimes an ad will sit there 4 like 2 months but alot of the stuff i sell is on craigslist

I have seen quite a few adds with people putting up super rare games.......thats a cruel joke, I get all excited but don't get a response back.

Wow, same here, and it ALWAYS breaks my heart. image You start reading a list of common/uncommon games (Bubble Bobble, Castlevania, Metroid) then they say something like Flintstone's Surprise at Dinosaur Peak or Stadium Events... It's enough to get the heart pumping. But ya never hear back after you email them. image

Anyway, I've found CL to be great for selling common games for good money, but not so great for selling rare games for good money. Usually only sell anything quickly on there if it's cheap. (I got a near-mint cib Princess Tomato off Ebay for $20 shipped, sold it for $40 on CL cuz I needed the money. It sold VERY quickly. And yes I kick myself to this day over it.)
