  • try cleaning it with 0000 fine steel wool. if that doesnt work its possible that one of those fuses on the board arnt any good. the capacitor could have gone bad. and on rare occasion the lock out chip or fx chip might be fried im not totally sure. though.

That doesn't mean anything at all. If you want to test a game to see if the system is working then try a game that has the super FX chip in it.   Try another console too.

Also clean the game and system again.

  • The solder mask on some of those pins has started to wear away, run a continuity test on the pins
  • will do everything u recommend n update the post, thx !

    edit:

tried everything, i give up thing must be fried
  • Maybe the RAM chip died, you could try replacing it.

Also you are trying to play the game on a NTSC console correct?  The lockout chip is a is a 411 chip and will only play on a USA or Japan console.

And have you tried any other games with a super FX chip.

Haha...good point. I don't really know what region Chile would have.
  • @jazz Chile is on South America (then NTCS)

@pete1985 the only test im missing is the starfox test (another game with an fx chip)
  • inally did all test and.....nothing, same problem game is definitely fried
  • I've heard that Yoshi's Island has a higher-than-usual defective rate for some reason. There's a chance it's something in the board and not the ROM chip, but I believe this is the only game to use that particular board, making a ROM transplant stupid. On a $25 game it's not really worth fooling with it any more probably.
  • I do have the same problem with mine.
  • a friend of a friend fixed it, he cleaned and re welded the chips on the e-board
