    excellent nominations.

I once considered getting all the Star Wars games, but after a little research, I think I'll stick to CIB NES

  • So for the import games award, PC engine and saturn games count too? Just any import games?

    Yeah, any will do.

How about 50+ Graded games? Or is that controversial?

Doesn't seem controversial to me, how about 50+ sealed games?  They all get voted on anyways, so nominations can't really be considered too controversial.

    Great idea.
  • What aboot an award for complete RetroUSB collection. Complete being all the NES released games that where made available to the public through the site.
  • What about a game series award for the ports and spin-offs of the MacVenture games?

    Deja Vu (NES)

    Shadowgate (NES or GBC)

    Uninvited (NES)

    Beyond Shadowgate (TG16)

    Shadowgate 64 (N64)

Deja Vu 1 & 2: The casebooks of Ace Harding (GBC)
  • To reiterate things that have already been said, I'd love Fire Emblem and Advance Wars awards, but that's purely selfish because I already want/have all those games anyway.

Also, I totally second the MacVenture Award.

EDIT: Also, are PC games out of the question?  Because I think a Sierra or LucasArts Adventure award would be pretty boss.
  • I nominate for a NA Mirror award.

Here is the thread: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=133286. Dain also speaks on it in there.
  • I thought I'd chime in with some suggestions as well.

    For game series awards:

Star Wars (console games only because if PC counts these go in the hundreds I'd imagine)

Flintstones (I know it's hard to do but there are so many great games and there are already harder awards in my opinion)

    WipEout (classic racing series)

Pac-Man (classic character with lots of games for pretty much every console generation)

Ratchet & Clank (just had to suggest this)

    Others:

Owner of 5000+ games (or maybe 4000+?)

    Owner of 50+ consoles

    Owner of 20+ videogame movies

Complete Nintendo DS collection (CIB/lose) (this might be the last year in which DS games are being released)

Complete Sony PSP collection (CIB/lose) (the final NTSC title was released about a year ago now)

Complete Nintendo Wii collection (CIB/lose) (same as Nintendo DS)

No need for XBox360 and PS3 icons yet really. They'll probably keep making games for those systems for another two or three years or even more.

    I second that as well!
  • I'm not sure how many Ghostbusters games are out there, but a Ghostbuster award would look pretty damn cool.

  • In addition to my vote for an edit to the MBR/SR icon to show CIB or cart only and an award for the Exertainment 9XS and LC3500x, maybe an award for the always interesting X Band and matching keyboard?

Hey everyone, just as the titles states.  This thread will be for award announcements and also suggestions for awards the community would like to see.  I'll be working with NA mods MrClutch, Ookii risu and SA mod acomicbookguyc on adding a few more awards to the site.

    Q & A:

Question:  I qualify for an award, so how do I get it added?

    Answer:

If you qualify for an "Game Series" award, post a picture in this thread:

    http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&...

If you qualify for a "Kiosk Award" see this thread:  http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&...

If you qualify for any other award, pm a mod.  A list of mods and an extended list of awards can be found here:  http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=24&am...

Question #2:  I have an idea for an award, so where do we go from here?

Answer:  Great, you're in the right place.  Post your suggestion in this thread.  We'll take a look at it and see if it's a good fit into our current awards.  Please note that some awards might be a good fit for the site and some might not be, please don't take it personal if your award suggestion does not end up being implemented into the site.  We are working on a time schedule for when new awards will be added.  It may end up being something like four awards once every four months.

Question #3:  I have an idea for the "Game Series" award, post that here?

Answer:  Yep, post your Game Series idea here.  Keep in mind these two things.   First, is it a series that you believe many other NA members would go for, nothing too obscure.  Second, does it have close to 10 unique games in the series or more?

Question #4:  So what awards currently exist?

Answer:  Here are our current awards separated in categories:

Also.... Sega Age, there will be a “Game Series Award” thread over on Segaage.  So if you can post pictures over there as well.  Click here for that:  http://segaage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=42&thread...

    Thanks guys/gals!

how's about a Digimon Award ? it's expensive to collect most of the games .
  • I know we have a 25+ reproduction award and it's given as a mix of repros , home brews and hacks but how about the same award for Cib ?

As you all know Cib even for reproductions can get expensive some costing $100 and over . I think having that many Cib should be recognized.

Not only is it a nice accomplishment but also consider the work that goes into making not only the game and label but to write up instruction manuals and boxes plus the effort it takes to make them .
  • How about a Funtastic N64 (CIB or Loose) complete set award
  • I need to work on that new Gradius series award!

I agree.  Its nice to have quality boxes/manuals from uncle tusk and fSped09 (not to mention the homecrewes/repro makers), and its a part of my collection I am proud of.

I had another idea for a cool award (since we didn't get the mirror ).  What about an official Nintendo display cabinet (like Th0rpe's, I don't have a pic) or aanother official one?

They are becoming more rare, and they are really great pieces.  I know we have the kiosk award, but this might be a fun addition.

Final after a month someone agrees! If we all bought 25 games at lets say $25 each $625 total well then Cib owners of 25 paid $1250! Besides the new Larry I think all of mine were over $50 each . This award is a well deserved one and can easily be done . Take or current 25+ and add a box around the icon .

Corey your award idea is a nice one too . The icon could be world of nintendo just like it is on most cabinets
  • I'd like to see a 3/5 Screw Set award.
  • We currently have awards for owners of 25+ imports, reproductions, and pirates. Homebrew is a growing part of the retro community and IMO more legit than say repros. I propose that NA add an award for "Owner of 25+ homebrews"

    Thanks.

How about also adding more categories for Proto owners. Such as 25+ or unreleased titles.

Still like the idea of exspanding the +##. Big gap that could use some love. Does't matter muchto me ecause I'm -1 for protos.

  • I think Animal Crossing should be added as a game award series.

    Animal Crossing (GCN)

    Animal Crossing Wild World (DS)

    Animal Crossing City Folk (Wii)

    Animal Crossing New Leaf (3DS)

    +5 Animal Crossing items.

An N64 Rareware game set would be a cool suggestion as well, as I saw someone else suggest it.
  • I think someone already said it but we need a Yoshi award. I'm surprised we don't already have one!

    Yoshi - NES/GB

    Yoshi's Cookie - NES/SNES/GB

    Yoshi's Safari - SNES

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - SNES

    Yoshi's Story - N64

    Yoshi's Topsy Turvy - GBA

Yoshi Touch & Go - DS

    Yoshi's Island DS - DS

    Yoshi's New Island - 3DS

    Yoshi's Woolly World - Wii U (soon)
