I had a pretty good day today.

I got the boxed stuff and the Speedboard in the mail, and the two loose games for $1 a piece at a local store. I figured for $1 I should get them, seeing as I didn't own them yet.

  • I still need: Jungle Book, Battletoads/DD, Gun+Nac

    Nice score, fellow.
  • Heh...I still need all of those (well, except the Speedboard..what is that anyway?). Nice finds image .
  • nice pick ups gun nac is one of those games that dont seem to come up to often boxed.
  • The speedboard was an accessory to make the controller kind of like a keyboard? Basically you stick a controller in it, then use your finger tips to play...haven't used one myself, but they look pretty lame!

...And why was that accessory deemed necessary? Lol...
  • LOL... honestly I think it just stabalizes the controller so you can beat on the A B buttons faster for games where you just need to mash on them.
  • maybe it's another handi-accessory for those who can't grip properly, but they figured it might have a little more mass appeal. To arthritics and such.

It was designed for all those old atari folks who grew up on joysticks and just could not, for the life of them, adjust to the D pad. I've met a few guys like this myself. They lay the controller flat on the table and use their fingertips. The speedboard is perfect for them.
  • Sorry boys, none of this is for sale. Hell, this is my second Bases Loaded 4 box, since I sold my first one to you Jason.

As for the Speedboard, it's just a random accessory that is somewhat difficult to come by. I would really like one in the box (hint, hint E).
  • How much did you pay for that loose speedboard?  They are ridiculously expensive on eBay, loose.  I desperatly need a boxed one.  If anyone wants to sell me a boxed one, I'm VERY interested.

  • I snagged my lose one locally for .50 image

  • Nice finds! I think the main point behind the Speedboard is to allow people to use their index and middle fingers rather than their thumbs to press the D-pad and the buttons on the controller (as shown on the box).

Yeah, that's probably because the last boxed one (AFAIK) sold for a little over $100 on eBay.
  • I got mine super cheap I cant remember but it was somewhere between 5.00 and 15.00 dollars boxed
