Some hacks do have strange issues on real hardware, Clock Tower for example has some I guess you could call it ghost text on real hardware. I like to see if a ROM will load in BSNES before turning it into a cart.
Here is a shot of what I am talking about in Clock Tower.
I haven't used BSNES much. I need to learn more about it. One reason why I like my adapter so much is because I can test out roms and not be married to them.... If they don't work, pop it out of its sockets and on to the next one...
I've heard about the clock tower problem. Does the ghosting show up in BSNES???
Yes, I took a picture of BSNES and SNES9x side by side, the right window is BSNES. It only seems to be in the intro screen, I have not seen this error while in game.
Humm... I've heard BSNES is supposed to be the most accurate emulator but if that error shows up in BNES but not on real HW, then how accurate can it really be?
I need fire up clock town again and see on the cart
http://www.romhacking.net/ is the only place I know where to get hacks and translation, I know they have some hacks like Mario Kart R and 8. Although 8 uses the PAL ROM so not sure how that will work on a NTSC SNES.
I think ucon can remove the 50/60 hz check but cannot convert the game to the proper format, if you have a super CIC installed in your SNES you might be able to get it working. I looked for a way to convert a PAL ROM to NTSC but came up empty myself.
I have a PAL console in the closet so I'll test on it later. I don't mod my consoles themselves. Just carts. A friend of mine converter winters gold (Fx game) rom to work on NTSC consoles so maybe it can be done. So I guess I need to re-patch with a PAL rom..
Hey guys! Wanted to post an update to my adapter. When I designed it, I added functionality for Star Ocean but only got around to testing if Star Ocean would actually work on it recently.. Star Ocean uses weird mappers and required address shifting for the 3rd rom (a lot of hand wiring).. Drum roll please.....
It works! And I re-organized the rom data so that you don't have to do any address shifting.
I will have a write up in the instruction manual soon.
Man, I cannot get Tales of Phantasia to work. Am I missing something here? A23/139 bridged, Rom1-139out bridged, Rom1 and Rom2 both bridged for 32Megabit Eprom (which is what I have). SL_139x2 bridged. What else is there? I made a multi cart with 8 games on 2 eproms and it works fine so I'm not sure if maybe I need to find a different Rom file but I have tried 2 so far. Tried using a Madden 95 and a NHL 97 board as a donor.
I figured out what it was. I updated the programmer software from the 5.03 version to the latest 6.30 version since I last programmed chips. Apparently my computer doesn't like the new version, I don't know why. I reinstalled 5.03 and it works. Thanks for the help though Mark, I'll be sending a PM your way about scoring some more boards pretty soon if you still have them.
I had a friend test the cart when i first developed the adapter. He said it all saved fine. See the link.
I saw it, but there's still a nasty bug that erases your savedata if you let the intro ends... but I only tested myself, so I want someone to test too, and make sure that it's not only MY system fault.
Of course I have solved in the 2mb version (the 2mb rom always erases the savedata because it doesn't have any intro )

I'll probably come looking for you again in a few months time for some more Yoshi's Island hacks man! Loving the ones you already made me.
Interesting that some of the hacks don't work on real HW... The emulators are more forgiving.

I'm looking for more Mario kart hacks to test on my setup. Know of any places to get them?
Same in PAL tittles like Mario World, or Super Mario All Stars.
In other words, yo can run NTSC roms in PAL mode, but not PAL roms in NTSC mode.
Made an AST multicart with working saves.
definitely going to buy more

I have about 80 adapters remaining.
Wrong? If you still have my email, send me your rom files and I'll check it out.
I have about 70 Pcbs left. One of my customers is talking about buying my remaining stock soon so you may want to get some while you can.
Thanks again
Ancient Stone Tablets (4 Weeks 4 Roms) Confirmed.
A little tricky putting the Roms on back to back on the board. But totally Works Great.
Save your game, Power off your console, whait a few minutes, Power on again and let the intro ends, without pressing any button on your controller.
Is still your save there?
I had a friend test the cart when i first developed the adapter. He said it all saved fine. See the link.
Sim Ant, Mario Paint, and Sim City all have 256k SRAM

MrPete1985, AST only needs 64kb for saving.
