N64 Turok: Rage Wars (Gray Cart)

I'm trying to find out what a fair price would be for this rare N64 cart. On eBay they are all over the place price wise, and since this one is a bit damaged I really can't gauge a fair price. Thanks for the help in advance!

    Also with that much label damage I'm going to guess that's a label swap and its just black cart guts in a grey case.

    I don't think that's true anymore. They're selling for around $200 every so often now, there were a couple listings with BINs of $250+ that sold as well. I have no idea if those were legitimate though. Either way, this variant exploded.

    Is the only way to confirm this to play the co-op and see if it allows me to beat the Frag Tag mode? Or would I be able to tell by looking at the board?

    The front label for Rage Wars didn't change between revisions. You need to look at the back label, there's two stamped numbers in the upper right corner. Rage Wars gray will have an A along with two numbers, like say 12A. Black Rage Wars will be just two numbers.



    The ROM chip inside should indicate a revision, but I haven't seen any pictures of the Rage Wars board so I can't say what the ROM should read as.

    If it is legit, I would expect a pretty low number in comparison to others. That label is super rough, not to mention suspect.

    Just confirmed the back is stamped with "08A"

    Not good.....Everyone I've ever seen is 07A.



    There may be a way to check from the startup screen or on the circuit board but you will have to dig for that info.

    The only way to solve this is to open the cart and read what the text on the ROM chip says.



    Now, I don't have a gray Rage Wars cart, but I do have a black one. Logically, a revision would have the chip text changed so as to not confuse the two revisions together.



    This is what Rage Wars 1.0 (black) says:

    I expect Rage Wars 1.1 to have a 1 instead of 0 at the end of the game's product code (see, these things are vital!!!).
