Messiah prototype controllers.

I just acquired something today. Its a prototype set of the limited edition NES wireless controllers. They have not ever been used and also have paperwork from Messiah explaining the differences between the prototype and the actual controllers they released.

Has anyone ever seen another set of these ? Im curious what the value would be.

  • Anything new on this?
  • Neat. I guess they made a wired and wireless version because I have a wired controller that looks exactly like that.
  • It is such an after market product that I feel most of the value here would come from its playability factor. How does this controller differ from the released? Does it have desirable features not on the released controller?

If it does not or worse yet has less features and is not as polished as the final then it might not sell for that much more than a standard retail unit. I'm sure he is out there somewhere but I'm not aware of any OCD collector of everything made by modern day NES accessories companies. Most people just buy those that they enjoy using.
  • I remember ordering a set of those controllers from Messiah back when they were being manufactured, and I never received the product. I contacted their customer support and they claimed they sent the controllers out, or something like that, and I never got my money back. It was a lot of cash to lose to a poor college kid. Prototype or not, everytime I see mention of these Messiah controllers, it just pisses me off all over again.

The wired version is different (mostly smaller) and came with the NEX console.  Don't think it was sold separately.
  • ^ from my google-fu research your correct the wired one only came with the system. Seems the system wasn't all that great but the controller was bragged about quite a bit, also seems it wasn't compatible with the NES consoles, but the wireless ones were with a dongle but got bashed for the circle pad.

Pretty sure ya guise already knew all of this already
  • wow, this is an old thread. does anyone know what a set of the NES and SNES wireless controllers is worth (not proto version)
