Back when the system first released, they were selling for alot $250-300. I tried to sell mine on ebay and was almost banned for doing so, I talked to multiple managers and they told me you can not sell a product box only on ebay. I asked him to search "Nintendo Box only" and see what comes up and I told him there are 20 plus listings for the exact same item I was trying to sell. They did not care so I am a little mor ecareful now.

yeah I had some display store boxes removed because of stupid ebay bots and people
I told them the same thing. There were over 6000 results I think. I told them. Umm lets go through each of these and remove them then. lol They said that I should list them as collectables. I was like what? I thought they werent allowed like you said? She said well I dont think they are collectable. I just laughed at her and eventually hung up. It was going no where. They dont know anything about this hobby over there.
