Factory(?) sealed NFR NES games
Hey guys, I've been having a hard time determining the worth of these games that I came across while out on a game hunt.
Here are some pics I took when I first got 'em, just trying to see what was up with them: http://imgur.com/a/jWsku
And here are some additional pictures I took of the hinge at the top of the boxes to try to help show that they're not re-sealed: http://imgur.com/a/5D0VZ
I cross-compared the seams to some other sealed NFR games at a local game shop, they had the Hunt for Red October and some other sports title that I was able to examine, and they're identical. I live in Seattle, which is near Redmond, so I'm guessing these particular NFRs came from the employee store, which is also why I was able to come across a couple other sealed NFRs at a nearby shop.
I'm familiar with the prices of normal sealed games, but I suspect that them being NFRs would have an effect on their value. I'm not sure what I plan on doing with these yet, since I like to play the games I collect, but these also seem like really nice finds to keep in the collection. Any help you can provide I would be very thankful for, as I've already received some messages from people elsewhere who are interested in purchasing them, but as we all tend to do, they're keeping their cards close to their chest. I just want to make sure I don't get hosed.
Thanks again,
-Derek
Edit: Here's a video with closeup footage of the games at around 3:30: http://youtu.be/vS8CsCdHtOo
After further investigation, the hinges appear to have been opened, as I can see a light line across the hinge. However, I've also realized that the fact that the NFR stickers are in different places, they're probably hand-applied at the store. It's not unreasonable to think they might have applied stickers to the cartridges too, and resealed them at the store. At least, that's my current hypothesis that would help explain why the seals are identical oth other sealed NES NFRs I've seen...

Here's an Illusion of Gaia Not For Resale that someone here sent to VGA and had graded. Doesn't seem to have much interest though.

Weird. These are cool and a nice grab for the price. The seals look really suspect to me, maybe these NFR games are sealed differently because your hinges look fine but it's tough to see them clearly in the pics. I'd love to hear other thoughts. These are reallyyyyy common games.
Yeah, if I were thinking at the time I probably would have taken pictures of the sealed NFRs at the game shop when I was visiting. I was wondering if getting them VGA graded would help, but I think their authoriyt is susspect since I don't know much about them, and I think grading in general is a waste of money. Instead what I'd need is some sort of certificate of authenticity, which again, would probably cost more than the difference

Yeah, it's got the same NFR sticker that I've got, but their copy is not sealed. It looks like they've just thrown it out there to get offers in order to help price it, but like you said, I don't see any offers. Probably because since it's not sealed, I'd rather it not be graded so I can take out the cart and play the thing! But maybe that's just me..
If it'll help, I'll try to take better pictures later on today, or maybe I could make a nice video showcasing them? If anybody wants a specific shot, let me know.
Edit: Here's the video, skip ahead toward 3:30 or so to start getting a good look at the games and their seams.

The top hinge shot of Tetris purports the complete opposite of this IMO. Looks to have been opened. And definitely not a factory seal on these. I would guess these were store re-seals. Sorry just my opinion
I know that the Not for Resale stickers on the inside of the wrap, and that's how it was with the other games I saw in a shop. I'm wondering if these were opened in the employee shop in order to have NFR stickers applied and then resealed. Especially since the other sealed NFR games were exactly like this.
Unless they came from the same guy's collection where he resealed them. That's another distinct possibility, but why he would then donate them to Value Village is another mystery.
