Asus MK241H 24" LCD monitor

I've got a fairly obscure monitor I was thinking of upgrading some time. Might try Craigslist to avoid shipping it.

Just one on ebay, a $187 BIN. Amazon has zero.

While the feature set is nice on paper (1920x1200, speakers, and webcam), it's also known for iffy picture/sound quality.

Colors tend to be too saturated. Mine has an audible hum if you turn the brightness down to compensate.

On top of that, HDCP doesn't work right on HDMI as far as I know. Neither PS3 or 360 handshaked when last tried long ago.

The vertical bands are an eyesore too. Easiest to see when there's a large amount of white. So it's better used to play games than say web browsing.

  • Just wanted to state it's pretty hard to sell monitors online, the shipping cost/time takes a lot out of it. I've personally sold 2 22" monitors for $60 each on craigslist, one was a viewsonic, the other was a samsung, and I was pretty happy with what I got in return. I put them up on the electronics part of craigslist and got nothing. I put them on the video games for sale and I got interested parties.

I'm sure I could have got more, but just know it's pretty hard to sell monitors, and getting a good amount like $50-$80 depending on the quality is pretty good if you ask me.
  • Yeah, not that it'll be easy to convince anyone to travel out here.
