Prototype Rare NES game - Mickey's Safari in letterland HELP

Hi, Recently I went through all of my NES games as a kid and I had quite a collection. My question is that I came across a game that simply doesnt make sense. From every pic I found on the internet, There are a couple of these cartridges from EA and others are classified as Prototypes and testers. The one I found in my collection is Mickey's Safari in Letterland and I did not have anyidea what it was worth. I decided to list it on ebay and within 12 hours, 2 people asked to purchase it immediately and one of those offers was for $1,000. So obviously it piqued my interest and I am at this point ready to close the auction and look into what this really is. Can someone help me out?!?? Do any of you have any idea what this is and what it possibly can go for??

Word, I moved this to the price check section for you.

$1,000 for this seems like a good deal (for you) if it's a legit prototype. Can you please open the cartridge up and post a picture of the entire PCB? Do you know if there any differences between this game and the finished game? Do you recall where you aquired it?
  • I would take a grand for that game, honestly, but your call. I don't think the auction is going to get anywhere near it and no details on the cart, especially without proper promotion.I'm not sure it would hit that anyway.
  • Hey all, Thank you very much for your time. I am sorry about the incorrect posting. Thanks also for your patience. I actually didnt have the correct bit to open the game so I had to do some shopping. Anyhow, The game has been in a closet for the past 15-20 years for sure and below are some pics of the open cart to see what it looks like.

Thanks again for your time. I truly appreciate it!
  • take that grand! this is worth $300-$400 on a really really good day.
  • Well, I got an even better offer. I've decided to cancel the auction and see what happens. Thanks for the info!!!
  • a better off than $1000 for a mickey mouse released nes proto?! Take the higher offer but I wouldn't push your luck. this thing is seriously not worth more than $500 tops.
  • I don't know nor understand why people are saying $1000+.
  • Take the money and run
  • awesome looks like you figured it out.
